A new European funded programme covering Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Telford & Wrekin which will offer:
• Free reviews & advice • Grants to reduce energy usage, costs and carbon. • Business Support
What is the Business Energy Efficiency Programme?
The key aims of the programme will be to help businesses to reduce energy costs, improve competitiveness, raise environmental awareness and reduce CO2 emissions
Who can we help?
Small and medium size enterprises:
• Based in Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Telford & Wrekin
• Employing less than 250 employees
• Turnover < 50 million Euros
• Balance sheet < 43 million Euros
Non eligible businesses include retail (primarily serving the public) & agriculture. The programme is primarily aimed at the business to business sector.
Energy Assessments
• Free diagnostic reviews • Helps put business in control
through measurement and technical advice
• Considers premises, people, practice & processes
• Provides report and follow up support
• In the previous Resource Efficient Worcestershire programme recommendations = average annual savings of £8K & 31 CO2 tonnes.

• £800,000 total grant funding • £2,000 – £20,000 • 40% intervention rate

Launched 28th November 2011 – when the Non domestic RHI started.
The Tier One tariff is based on a system being used for 1,314 hours per year.
The Tier Two tariff is then paid for anything over this usage.
The RHI will pay the customer on the amount of kWhs they use.
Payments are for 20 years and linked to the Retail Price Index (RPI) so will increase with inflation.

Digression
The next quarterly publications will be published by the 1st December 2016 and if a tariff is digressed in this announcement it will come into effect 1st January 2017.
The current RHI scheme is due to close on 31st March 2017 with a new scheme starting on 1st April 2017, we currently do not have any details on scheme changes however Government intends to reform the RHI to improve value for money; reduce costs; and improve cost control and budget management

Activities supported up to £20,000: For relocation and expansion activities e.g. kit out for new starters/expansion 3D Printer – prototype new products Improvements to your website
Activities supported up to £30,000: Encouraging innovation e.g. new manufacturing equipment ERP/CRM software systems Coaching and mentoring to help you grow and move forward
Activities supported up to £200,000: Security, lighting, landscaping, heating, signage, cycle racks and even toilets! Food and drink producers Mentoring and coaching – is HS2 for me?
HS2 is much bigger than civil engineering, tracks, bridges and trains……..
Activities supported up to £150,000: Most self improvements resulting in positive environmental changes Recycling waste e.g. plastic Move to renewable energy New production processes resulting in less energy consumption and less waste Diversify and create a completely new business from recycled product
Common themes across all four grant schemes: All projects must result in job creation - £10,000 = 1 job, £20,000 = 2 jobs Nine eligibility questions – must answer yes to all before applying ‘B2B’ businesses only Must be an SME, have eligible SIC code, must evidence match funding No HP or credit card purchases No multiple applications No retail
