LOCATION
The Neukölln-Südring area is located between downtown Berlin and the capital‘s southeast perimeter. The site benefits tremendously from its location at the edge of the inner city, in particular via its comparatively low-cost land prices and its direct access to the Autobahn.
The Estrel, Germany‘s largest hotel, lies at the edge of the area. The Estrel Congress Center features 25,000 square metres of event loca-tion space for up to 12,000 visitors.
In the past several years, the borough of Neukölln worked together with the federal state of Berlin to introduce a wide variety of infrastruc-tural measures designed to adapt the area to fit the most up-to-date site requirements.
FACILITIES
The Neukölln-Südring area is the highly valued home to major global industrial names such as Jacobs Douwe Egberts (formerly KRAFT Foods), Philip Morris and Biotronik. In addition, a number of companies active in the fields of food industry and semi-luxury industry, medical technology and metal processing industries and logistics have mainly set up operations here.
With roughly 500 companies and 12,000 employees, this business location is one of the largest and most important in Berlin. Neukölln-Südring consists of various different usage areas, including residential, science, commercial and tourism. In fact, the companies operating at the industrial park joined to form a network known as the Netzwerk Südring, which works to promote the site via a number of activities.
ACCESSIBILITY
Neukölln-Südring boasts excellent connections to transport networks. The area is centrally located and is accessible quickly from downtown Berlin as well as from supra-regional locations. Neukölln-Südring also comprises key intersection points with Berlin‘s city Autobahn as well as freight transport via rail and water-ways. Also in the immediate proximity are connections to Berlin‘s U-Bahn and S-Bahn trains.
