Neutral Bay Virtual Cross CountryCongratulations to everyone who has taken part in the Neutral Bay Virtual Cross Country. Submissions have been coming in quickly from all age groups, and it has been fantastic to see everyone’s commitment to staying healthy (and earning precious house points!).

The great thing about this cross country is the variety we have seen. Some students have been making their runs more challenging by going up hills or even running on the sand! Although no track has been the same for this event, we would still like to showcase some of the amazing times we have seen so far:

1km

5 and 6 Years - 6:15 mins7 Years - 5:28 mins8 Years – 5:25 mins

2km

9 Years - 9:46 mins10 Years - 9:50 mins

3km

11 Years - 11:00 mins12 and 13 Years - 13:02 mins

Well done to all of our runners! There have been rumours that some teachers may be getting involved this week. Stay tuned for their times. Maybe you can run faster than the teachers?

Thanks for participating,Mr James Foley

Have a look at some of our amazing runners in Week 4!

Ben St Lawrence InterviewWe are proud and delighted to present a video of national record-holder and dual Olympian Ben St Lawrence made especially for the community of Neutral Bay Public School.

https://youtu.be/7fGlf9JZZDg

Ben is an Australian long-distance runner who specialises in the 5000 and 10 000 metres. He's the former Australian and Oceanian record holder in the 10 000 metres, two-time winner of the City to Surf (2018 and 2010), competed in the 2012 Olympic Games in London and qualified for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

In this video, Ben discusses his lifelong love of cross country, talks about the mental and physical benefits of running and shares his tips for students competing in our virtual cross country competition.

We hope this helps to inspire our students to prioritise good health and a balanced lifestyle. We would like to thank Ben St Lawrence for agreeing to make this video for the families and students of Neutral Bay Public School.

Best wishes to all houses and runners!
