Pauli’s Hypothesis
In 1930, Pauli had the idea of neutrino
To explain the missing energy during Beta decay.
His idea was later led by Fermi.

What is Neutrino ?
Neutral subatomic particle of very low mass.
Belong to the Lepton family. Affected only by weakest of nature’s
force.

First experimental detection
In 1942, Wang Ganchang first proposed the use of beta capture to experimentally detect neutrinos
Group of scientists detect neutrino by Cowan–Reines neutrino experiment in 1956.
Nobel Prize in 1995 given as a reward for this.

Faster Global Communications
Drawback of Electromagnetic wave is they don’t passes through all matter.
Neutrinos easily penetrate through all matter
With almost the speed of light Communication tool for future

First message using Neutrino beam
On Apr 2012, scientists of Fermilab send a first message using neutrino beam
They convert ‘NEUTRINO’ to binary code.
Distance over 1035m with 240m of Earth.
Successfully received by MIVERvA detector.

Extraterrestrial communications
Neutrinos plays a great role in SETI.
Penetrate massive interstellar clouds.
Detection neutrino carrying information provide evidence of Alien civilizations

To predict Dark matters
Hypothetical kind of matter would account for most of the matter in the Universe.
Neutrinos could be the missing link of dark matters.
Dark matter search from collision of neutrinos from sun or other astrophysical sources.

To monitor nuclear proliferation
Antineutrino detector to monitor a nuclear reactor for the production of weapon.
No. of antineutrinos produced and their energy spectrum, indicates nuclear process
Future tool of nuclear proliferation.

India’s role
Indians are pioneers in Neutrino science at 1960’s
Kolar gold field laboratory in Karnataka
INO established to reclaim our role in neutrino science

India based Neutrino Observatory
The INO collaboration has now decided on a site in Bodi West Hills in Thenidistrict.
The underground laboratory, consisting of a large cavern of 2100 m long and 7.5 m wide tunnel.
ICAL is the world’s most massive magnet, 4 times of CERN.

Conclusion17
Neutrinos have the secret of the Universe.
Neutrino have a power to solve the unsolved mysteries of Science.
When we implement the applications of Neutrino research make our “Universe- a Hamlet”

CONCLUSION
Science has no boundaries,It expands when human thinking
expands
