NevoLink is an IP-addressable IR blaster that enables multi-room control of infrared devices.

NevoLink RequirementsThe home network to which you connect NevoLink must be WiFi-enabled. An open Ethernet port must be close enough to NevoLink to connect a CAT5 (Ethernet) network cable.

You will need a NevoLink in each room or equipment closet containing devices to be controlled, and you must configure the Nevo remote controller to send commands via WiFi signals when creating a project file in NevoStudio. See the chapter on configuring NevoLink in the NevoStudio Design Guide (packaged with the NevoSL universal controller) for more information.

Unpacking NevoLinkNevoLink comes with the following components:

Connecting NevoLink to a NetworkBefore you begin, obtain a standard Ethernet CAT5 cable.

Basic ConnectionsIn a basic network setup, NevoLink can simply be set so that the IR blaster on the front is within the IR range of the devices to be controlled:

To set this up:

1. Make sure there is an RJ-45 network outlet or wireless bridge near each NevoLink location.

2. Connect a CAT5 network cable to network wall outlet or the wireless bridge or router and to NevoLink’s rear panel:

3. Connect the power adapter to NevoLink, then plug it into the wall.

Advanced ConnectionsIf NevoLink is not or cannot be placed within the devices’ IR range (for example, they are stacked in an equipment closet, as shown below):

To set this up:

1. Connect up to 6 IR extender cables (one for each device to be controlled) to the IR ports on NevoLink’s rear panel.

2. Peel off the adhesive covering, then stick the IR transmitter end of the IR extender cable directly on top of the device’s IR receiver.

3. If you intend to direct all IR signals via the IR extenders, connect a switch plug to each remaining open IR port. This turns off the IR signal from the front of NevoLink, ensuring a more directed signal.

4. Connect a CAT5 network cable to the network wall outlet or to the wireless bridge or router and to NevoLink’s rear panel.

5. Connect the power adapter to NevoLink’s rear panel, then to a power outlet. NevoLink will automatically identify itself to the network and will appear in NevoStudio when you refresh the NevoLink list.

After properly connecting NevoLink, see the NevoLink chapter in NevoStudio Design Guide.
