How to Use This Guide

1. Go through the guide with girls

2. Find Programs that match their age level and

interest.

3. Girls can attend events with their troops, a buddy,

or on their own. Please not that unless otherwise

indicated, an adult chaperone must attend. Unless

indicated, Tag-a-longs (tags) are not allowed.

4. Register for events at www.girlscouts-gssi.org.

Community Partner programs will state who to

contact to register for that particular program.

5. Please read the complete program description and

registrations instructions carefully. Registration is

different for each program.

Categories: Guide will be organized by Council Events and Community Partner Programs.

As in the past, this program guide includes both Council-Sponsored and Vendor-Sponsored Programs. Each type of program has a

different procedure for registration and fees payment.

For Council Sponsored Programs, GSSI handles online registration and payments. Paper registration forms can be requested if you do not have internet access.

For Vendor-Sponsored Programs, you must contact the vendor and register/pay fees directly to the vendor.

When a girl attends a Vendor-Sponsored Program, she must bring a signed GSSI Activity Permission Form with her to the event. If she does not have a signed permission form, the vendor will not allow her to participate in the activity.

GSLE Tips will be included with programs that tie into a particular Journey or Badge.

Event titles for Council Events are listed in GREEEN and include: (Council Event)

Event titles for Vendor-Sponsored Events are listed in BLUE and include:

(Vendor-Sponsored Event)

Vendor-Sponsored Events that relate to Journeys/Skills include: (Journey/Skill-related)

What if I’m not a Girl Scout? Non-members must pay the additional $15 Girl Scout membership fee, even when the activity is vendor-sponsored. The membership fee can be completed online at Girl Scout Membership or can be sent directly to the council office with a current Membership Registration Form attached. Contact the council office at (812) 421-4970 to secure a membership form to complete. Membership ensures the safety of the girl, as well as the vendor offering the program.

Can I use my Cookie Dough? Cookie Dough may NOT be used on Vendor-Sponsored Programs. These items may be used for council events/products only. Permissions needed? When a girl attends a Council-Sponsored Program or Vendor-Sponsored, she must bring a signed GSSI Activity Permission Form with her to the event. If she does not have a signed permission form, the council/vendor will not allow her to participate in the activity. If I register for a Council-Sponsored Event, can I cancel? (Vendor-Sponsored programs make their own cancellation policies; participants will need to verify with the community vendor/facility directly.) Cancellation requests before the deadline will receive 75% of the fee refunded. If there is an unexpected date change or weather cancellation with no reschedule options, 100% of payment will be refunded. No other cancellation refunds will be issued.
