AVAILABILITY

PHYSICAL PROPTERTIESBASECOATApply basecoat per manufacturer’s mixing and application instructions. Allow sufficient flash times before applying 2.1 VOC EASY CLEAR. Inadequate flash time will affect the performance of the clear. DO NOT DEVIATE FROM THESE RECOMMENDATIONS.

DRY TIMES AT 70°FAIR DRY: Allow 2.1 VOC EASY CLEAR to become hand slick (5-10 minutes) before applying the next coat. To sand & buff 2.1 VOC EASY CLEAR, it must be allowed to cure for a minimum of 14-16 hours. All dry times are measured at 70°F, higher temperatures will provide faster curing times.

FORCED DRY: No purge necessary. Bake @140°F for 30 minutes. Only use slow activator when force drying. Allow vehicle to cool down to room temperature before sanding and buffing.

SPRAY GUN ADJUSTMENT AND SETUPGUN TYPE: Siphon or Gravity feed HVLP or RPNOZZLE/TIP SIZE: 1.4 mm is required for proper atomization when using an HVLP. If using an RP type gun 1.3—1.4mm tip is recommended.AIR PRESSURE: 30 to 45 PSI at the gun or 7-10 PSI at the cap.

MIX RATIOTo one (1) part 8620x 2.1 VOC EASY CLEAR, add one (1) part 8625x, 8627x or 8629x ACTIVATOR

APPLICATIONApply 2 full wet coats, allowing a 2 to 5 minutes (limited flash) between coats. Allow clear to cure overnight (14 to 16 hours) before sanding and buffing.

EQUIPMENT CLEANINGClean equipment with a compliant solvent. Refer to appropriate Air Quality District requirements for proper use of equipment and solvents. Do not leave catalyzed product in the gun more than 1 hour.

PRODUCT SAFETY INFORMATIONBefore using any 2.1 VOC EASY CLEAR product, be sure to read all safety directions and warnings. WEAR PROPERLY FITTED AIR PURIFYING RESPIRATOR with organic vapor cartridges (NIOSH approved TC-23C) and particulate filter (NIOSH TC-84A), eye protection, gloves and protective clothing during application and until all vapors and spray mists are exhausted. In confined spaces, or in situations where continuous spray operations are typical, or if proper air purifying respirator fit is not possible, wear a positive-pressure, supplied air respirator (NIOSH TC-19). In all cases follow respirator manufacturer’s directions for respirator use. When mixed, also contains Isocyanate. Do not permit anyone without protection in the painting area.
