photographic portrait of Alabone with his Epicycloidal
Geometric Chuck machine and 77 plates reproducing 117
designs made with the machine, printed in colours. With a
manuscript design made using his machine surrounding the
presentation inscription preceding the title. Publisher's
maroon cloth gilt, patterned endpapers. Provenance: J. R.
Davies (presentation inscription from the author dated 1911).
Presentation copy of the first edition of a spectacularly
illustrated book of designs made using mathematical
calculations on an epicycloidal lathe.

engraved plates. Extra-illustrated with an 18th-century hand
coloured decoupage of a potted chrysanthemum, mounted on
verso of the title. Early nineteenth century half calf and
purple morocco, spine gilt with raised bands in five
compartments, patterned endpapers.
A very rare hand coloured copy of a noted 18th century
manual on flower painting.

gilt and blind and lettered in gilt, flat spine gilt, cream silk
endpapers.
A stunning album of early floral photographs attributed to
Braun.
