Restore gorget patches for Cols-to-Gen.

New Figure 3-2-1 in ADH 265.

Symbols are based on the pre-1968 Canadian Pattern which continues to be worn by all commonwealth Nations.

Minor changes to patterns will be supported IAW Regt’l traditions pre-1968

No change to Governor General/vice-regal badges of rank.

Worn only by Army Generals and Colonels on the DEU Order of Dress.Colonels and Brigadier Generals of the Medical, Dental, and Chaplain Branches wear their own distinct colour. Not worn by Honouraries (Cols-in-Chief, Cols Comdt, Cols-of-the-Regt, or Hon Cols).Senior CWOs will retain their cross sword collar badges.The gorget patches are not symmetrical. There is a left and right design. Pin-on backings (two). New CA button (20 line) will be used decoratively. Large gorget patch worn on DEU jacket collar (3.5” x 1.25”). These replaces the cross swords. Smaller version worn on open shirt collars (2” x 1”).

Re-introduceDistinctive CA Button

CA will introduce a distinctive Command button based on CA Historic Device announced by the MND.

It will be worn by all CA personnel who do not have a distinctive Corps or Regiment button including Colonels-to-Generals.

Based on 9 Jul 13 MND’s announcement introducing a CA historic device as our secondary badge, the CA will update our DEU pocket badge based on the primary badge of the WW II Canadian Army.

Division Formation PatchesOn 9 Jul 13, the MND renamed the former-LFAs to Divisions and spoke about soldiers proudly wearing their identifying patches..

Introduce a 2” x 3” Division patch in wool melton to be worn on the left upper sleeve of the DEU jacket.

Amend to ADH 265, Chapter 3, Sect 5, para 7, permit formation badges for CA Divisions at public expense.

Left sleeve is required IOT keep forward orientation of CMBG and CBG formation patches which are designed left-to-right dominant.

Left sleeve is the historically correct sleeve for the Division formation patches.

Division pantones are based on WW I and WW II colours.

Royal Canadian Corps Metal Shoulder Titles

On 19 Apr 13, the MND announced the restoration of the names of the Royal CA Corps.

5 x Branches/Corps were directly affected and restored their names.

New DEU metal shoulder titles have been ordered as well as cloth epaulette flashes on the CADPAT slip-on.
