Our courses You will learn speech and gain confidence in the foreign language in our Semi-intensive Course (Monday to Friday, 20 lessons, weekly=15 hours). Furthermore, you will expand your vocabulary, improve your grammar and polish your writing skills. The Intensive Course (Monday to Friday, 30 lessons, weekly = 22.5 hours) builds upon the Semi-intensive Course. This course emphasizes speech and focuses on the 4 skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening. You will get a certifi-cate of participation upon completion of the course

Teaching timeNormally, the Semi-intensive Course is from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 12:30. Students in the Intensive Course will also have lessons from 13:00 and 14:30. The exact teaching times can vary according to course loca-tion. Alternatively, class can also take place in the after-noon in the summer. One lesson consists of 45 minutes.

You will be accompanied by our „teamers“ who have been specially trained by us. The teamers are 21 to 30 years old and from different countries throughout Europe and the Americas. Therefore, only the natio-nal language will be spoken at the destination. The teamers enjoy spending time with you, will live in the residence with you, accompany you throughout the day and also organize the leisure program. If you have any questions or special requests, they will help you at any time! One teamer takes care of 15 students. Students who are 18-21 years of age will be able to enjoy the complete support of Sprachcaffe teamers. They are not bound to the Sprachcaffe leisure program but may join any activities from the program that are of interest to them. Students 17 years or younger will be expected to follow the leisure program and curfew as directed by Sprachcaffe.

Leisure ProgramWe offer an exciting and varied leisure program for the afternoons and evenings. You will get to know the area around the school through full-day excursions on the weekend. Generally, 1 full-day excursion and 2 half-day excursions are held in a 2-week language course. In a 3-week language course we offer 2 full-day excursions and 3 half-day excursions. You will also have afternoons and/or evenings off to pursue your own interests.

AccommodationYou have a choice of accomodation as we understand how important it is for you to feel comfortable. You can choose from a homestay or a residence – everyone finds an appropriate home at Sprachcaffe!

HomestayDaily contact with the local people, learning about eating and living habits and using your lan-guage skills right away: These are some of the essential benefits of choosing a homestay. You will share a room with 1 or 2 students. We can-not tell you in advance if it will be a room with 2 or 3 beds. A lot of the host families are not living in the city center. This means that you will have to walk a bit and/or go by public transport to school. Therefore, you should include transportation costs in your travel budget. A seven-day ticket costs 12 € to 30 €. Though most of the homestays are provided with Internet, it is not included and you are adviced to kindly ask your hosts wheter you may use Internet in your accommmodation. Otherwise you can use plenty of Internet cafés in the city center.

ResidenceOur residences are a great alternative to a homestay – especially for those who would like, and are allo-wed to have some more free time. Being closer to the school is convenient and saves time. Moreover, you will meet other language students from diffe-rent countries so you can spend your free time with them and use your new language skills straight away. In Malta you have the additional choice of accommo-dations in the Club Village (3 beds/room) or in the residence (4-7 beds/room). This gives you flexibility in choosing your stay. The teamers are also staying in the residence!

Arrival at destinationPlease have some patience after arriving at the desti-nation because move-in time is generally not until the afternoon. You might also have to leave your room in the morning on the day of departure. You also have to pay a key deposit if you live in the residence (please include this in your budget). You will get this deposit back on the day of departure, provided that there is no damage to the property or furnishing.

Arrival and departure daysGenerally, arrival is on Sunday and departure is on Sa-turday. Please consider this while booking your flight. Extra nights are available on request only!

Fun factor

transferPlease inform us about your full flight details (airline, flight times and number, terminal) at least four weeks in advance so we are able to arrange the transfer. Please note that we have different transfer times depending on the destination. You can find detailed information about transfer times and transfer airports on the school‘s individual page.As we offer group transfers it might take a bit of time until you leave the airport for your accommodation. Meantime you have the chance to get known to your new classmates at the airport.

MealsGenerally, you will get breakfast, dinner and a packed lunch (with a sandwich, drink, and dessert) or a hot lunch. The meal is always what is typically served in the country. Please consider that this is not all-inclusive catering so you will often only get water with your meal. You need to purchase your own drinks and snacks outside of meals.

Nowadays, Beijing has a population of approximately 13 million inhabitants and is the nation´s political and cultural centre. The city is now a major hub for shopping, retail and trade still retains a mysterious feel of the past. Having hosted the 2008 Olympic Games, the city has undergone substantial changes: parks and green areas have been redesigned by landscape designers.Come and explore our amazing history!

Malta is the island of sunshine.The island, situated in the south of Europe, is made for spending the summer and studying English.

Malta has excellent beaches and offers a wide range of great activities - both during the day and in the evening. Buggiba, your destination, is only 10 km away from Malta´s capital, Valetta. The region is famous for its amazing landscape and the sandy beaches in St. Paul´s Bay. Without a doubt, a place made for a holiday!

Brighton is young and exciting. It is perfect for young international students to meet up and spend their language holiday together at the beach. „The Lanes“ invite you to shop until you drop, the „Royal Pavilion“ and „Brighton Pier“ are only 2 of the places you must see for yourself! Brighton is situated only 1h away from London, so full-day trips to Great Britain´s capital are a must.

The residence and the apart-hotel are directly at the seafront only about a fifteen minute walk away from the main school. Costa Mesa provi-des easy access to many of the major southern California attractions, such as beaches, mountain areas, deserts, Disneyland, Knott‘s Berry Farm, and Palm Springs. Be-sides its notable shopping centers such as the South Coast Plaza and Fashion Island, Orange County is also known for the diverse art galleries and art-orientated events that take place in Newport Beach, Huntington Beach and Laguna Beach. 1. Enrolment: Fill out the application form below and post or fax it to the address mentioned at the back of the brochure. A deposit of 20% of the total amount is due at the time of regis tration. With your application you commit yourself to the services requested and booking conditions. After having received your application and deposit we will send the confirmation of enrolment and the invoice. The welcome pack with extra information and the address of your accommodation will be sent after you have settled the remaining balance. The invoice must be paid in full 4 weeks before arrival.

2. Rebooking: Any bookings changed (e.g. arrival date, accommodation, etc.) up to 31 days before departure will be subject to a 50 € surcharge. We will do our utmost to fulfill your requests, but cannot offer any guarantees. In the case where extra costs are incurred, the rebooking charge will exceed 50 €.

3. Cancellation: You may cancel your enrollment at any time prior to the commencement of your course. In the USA we will refund all funds, save for any non-refundable fees. However, you will be charged the following cancellation fees:

- Cancellation up to 30 days before course commencement: 10% of total fees, max. 150 € or equivalent.

- Cancellation 15 to 29 days before commencement: 25% of total fees, max. 300 € or equivalent.

- Cancellation 1 to 14 days before commencement: 50% of total fees, max. 600 € or equivalent.

Thereafter, 90% of the total fee is required, max. 1000 € or equivlent. After arrival at the destination, no refunds will be made. If you prefer, you can also purchase cancellation insurance. This is 2% of the total amount (min. 50 €). You must apply and pay for the insurance at the time of registration and it will only apply to cancellations prior to departure due to health reasons (on receipt of written confirmation from the relevant doctor).

Under the rare circumstances of our being forced to cancel, all fees paid for Sprachcaffe services will be refunded. The minimum number of participants for the junior program is 4 students.

4. Visa: In order to provide the letter of acceptance required by the embassy for visa issuance, 40% of the total amount should be paid together with a non-refundable fee of 80 € or the equivalent.

In the case of a visa refusal, a full refund minus the non-refundable fee of 80 € can only be made if the student provides the letter of refusal issued by the embassy at least 14 days before departure. After this date we will consider the student’s participation as confirmed, and normal cancellation/rebooking fees will apply. In the case where the visa has not yet been issued 15 days prior to departure, we strongly recommend post-poning the course. In this case, the first rebooking fee will not be charged (evidence of visa refusal required).

5. Acceptable forms of payment:

- By bank transfer: The relevant account number will be on the invoice. Please send us a copy of the transfer order.

All bank charges will be incurred by you.

- By credit card: Upon notification, we will send you the appropriate form. It needs to be completed with the name of the credit card company, the card number, the expiry date and your signature. An additional 2% credit card fee will be charged.

6. Insurance: Neither agent, operator, nor the school is responsible in any way for any accident, illness, loss of personal effects or change in personal circumstances arising at any time prior to, or during, the course. We therefore strongly recommend you purchase our personal travel insurance (incl. Health, Third-party, Accident and Baggage: 50 € per person per month).

7. Liability: Parents of minors agree that neither Sprachcaffe nor the host family shall be liable for damages or problems caused either negligently or intentionally by their children while participating in trips. Parents and their children who are still minors recognize and accept the laws and the normal code of conduct of the country which they are visiting.
