A. Objectives:
1. To increase awareness of current issues in the United States and around the world
and how they apply to the study of this course.2. To utilize media resources and understand how bias and perspective help to sway
public opinion.
B. Directions:
1. Research and cut out or print an article from a newspaper, magazine, or internet
site that focuses on the issue/topic assigned.
2. Summarize the article in your own words.3. Explain how this article pertains or relates to our current unit of study.
4. Prepare a conclusion in which you state your own opinion toward the issue/topic.
C. Format:
1. Name, Date and Period in the upper right hand corner of response paper.
2. Title of the article, source and date it was written3. staple the article to the back of your response page (upper left corner)
4. Summarize the article – 1st paragraph
5. How does the information relate to government/unit of study? – 2nd paragraph
6. Conclusion – your opinion – 3rd paragraph
