WHAT WE DO

For more than 30 years, we have provided dependable and accurate boundary and topographic surveys and “existing condition surveys” for architects A new service that we are excited to provide to architects, interior designers and their projects is 3D laser scanning, which provides “an unobtrusive method of obtaining highly accurate as-built information for indoor and outdoor natural or man-made structures.”

We chose the FARO Focus 3D Laser Scanner for all of our scanning projects because it produces incredibly detailed 3D color images of complex geometries at the blistering rate of 976,000 points per second. The “point cloud” files generated by the scanner can be delivered to our clients for use in any CAD environment.

Applications for this service include building renovations, building additions and expansions, historical preservation, piping and ductwork retrofits and Building Information Modeling (BIM) projects.

A new service that we are excited to provide for general contractors is 3D Laser Scanning. Combined with conventional survey traversing and leveling techniques, we can create extremely accurate “point clouds” for building renovations and additions, building expansions, piping and duct work retrofits and BIM applications, which can be delivered for use in any CAD environment.

DEVELOPERS For more than 30 years, Compass Surveying has provided dependable and reliable professional land surveying services for developers, real estate professionals and clients whose business is to own, operate and invest in real estate.

Initially, we provide an ALTA Survey; showing access, easements of record that impact the property, existing floodplains and wetlands, existing ground elevations and utilities for feasibility and preliminary engineering design.

Next, if the proposed development is comprised of multiple land parcels, a plat of consolidation, subdivision, or re-subdivision may be necessary to create new lots, roadways and easements.

Next, upon approval by the local government or municipality we perform construction surveying, which is the staking of the new grades, curb & gutter, sanitary, storm and water utilities.

And finally we perform an As-Built Survey to ensure that the project was constructed in substantial conformance with the approved engineering plans.
