i A Global Perspective In a rapidly globalising world, it is important to have opportunities to approach business questions and themes from a global perspective. On these programmes, you will examine current trends at an international level, including opportunities to address global issues in informatics in very practical ways.

Skills for Business Our dual degrees are designed to give you a set of skills precisely balanced for careers at the cutting edge of business and finance, including highly distinctive and valued expertise in informatics.

Real-world Scenarios and Activities The degrees offer a range of opportunities for you to apply the principles of business management or accounting and finance, combined with informatics, to practical contexts. You will find that case scenarios based on real-world problems often are used in teaching. An Internship module allows students to work on an informatics project within a local organisation.

Employability and Careers These programmes are interdisciplinary in character, drawing together areas including business and organisational science, information science, computing, psychology, economics and sociology. This means that students develop as well-rounded, flexible thinkers with the ability to bring multiple perspectives to bear on complex problems. As a graduate of these programmes, you will have the intellectual qualities and skills to excel in what you want to do next, including skills of critical analysis, design, problem-solving, creativity, enterprise, and evaluation. Informatics expertise is relevant to a wide range of roles in business and finance, and we expect graduates of our new programmes to be ready for diverse graduate traineeships in one of the UK’s or the world’s leading companies. Alternatively, you may choose to move on to one of the many specialist roles for people with informatics expertise. Just some of the current job titles for people with backgrounds in informatics include: information manager; information architect; research information manager; business analyst; systems analyst; social networks engineer; web designer; freedom of information officer.
