New Entertainment and Events for Summer
Starting July 10
URAYASU, CHIBA— Tokyo Disney Resort® announced that starting July 10 a new nighttime
spectacular and two new shows will premiere as part of the ongoing anniversary event, “Tokyo
Disney Resort 35th ‘Happiest Celebration!’” In addition, summer special events will be
presented again this year at both Parks from July 10 through September 2, and special summer
programs will also be offered at the Disney hotels and the Disney Resort Line. Guests of all ages
are sure to enjoy everything that the 35th anniversary year has to offer this summer.
Premiering at Tokyo Disneyland® on July 10 will
be the nighttime spectacular “Celebrate! Tokyo
Disneyland” created especially for the 35th anniversary.
With images projected onto Cinderella Castle, colorful
fountains, lights that color the night sky and lively music,
this show will transport Guests around the Kingdom of
Dreams and Magic. Also premiering this summer for the
35th anniversary will be “Let’s Party Gras!” at Theatre
Orleans in Tokyo Disneyland and “Hello, New York!” at
Dockside Stage in Tokyo DisneySea®. Both shows will
spotlight the 35th anniversary with special scenes.
Tokyo Disneyland will again give a Disney touch to
the traditional elements of a Japanese summer festival in the
special event “Disney Natsu Matsuri.” The entertainment
program “Sansui! Summer Beat,” which offers a fun and
cooling experience with lots of spraying water soaking the
Guests, will have elements exclusive to this summer
including a Japanese festival-style arrangement of the 35th
anniversary theme song.

Pirates Summer” will bring back Captain Jack Sparrow,

Captain Barbossa and a pirate crew for “Pirates Summer
Battle ‘Get Wet!’” Guests will be caught up in the
exciting world of pirates inspired by the Disney franchise
Pirates of the Caribbean and will get drenched with lots of
water.
Other programs for summer will be offered at the Disney
hotels and the Disney Resort Line. Summer at Tokyo Disney
Resort in the 35th anniversary year will offer a wide variety of

In this brand new nighttime spectacular, a magical
spell is cast on Cinderella Castle and Guests are
transported around the Kingdom of Dreams and Magic
through dynamic visuals and memorable music. In
addition to the images projected onto the castle, this grand
spectacle features colorful fountains, vivid pyrotechnics,
dramatic fire effects and lighting that illuminates the trees
in the Plaza and fills the night sky. Cinderella Castle and
the entire Plaza area are the stage for this dazzling
nighttime entertainment.
The show begins when Mickey Mouse makes his appearance as the orchestra conductor and
opens the music score. When he waves his baton, Mickey finds that the music takes him and the
audience on a magical journey around Tokyo Disneyland. Guests witness the marauding pirates in
Pirates of the Caribbean, the runaway mine trains of Big Thunder Mountain, the Disney
Princesses waltzing in Fantasyland, space voyages in Tomorrowland and other scenes from the
different themed lands in the Park as Mickey’s journey continues. In the finale, the Disney Friends
are shown with a mosaic of the 35th anniversary logo projected on the castle while pyrotechnics
and lighting effects bring the magical, musical journey to a spectacular end.
“Celebrate! Tokyo Disneyland,” with its images of popular attractions and everyone’s
favorite Disney Characters, is certain to give Guests a sense of happy nostalgia. This grand
musical journey around the Kingdom of Dreams and Magic can only be experienced during this
summer period.

Celebration!’” event period, the show will also include the 35th anniversary theme song.
In the show, Donald Duck, José Carioca and
Panchito have arrived in New Orleans expecting a Mardi
Gras celebration. To their surprise the Disney Friends have
planned a special “party gras” that requires four important
elements: an artistic venue, happy music, striking costumes
and heartfelt dancing. Everything comes together on the
colorful stage, with cheerful Latin music and the 35th
anniversary theme song playing as the Disney Friends in
flamboyant costumes sing and dance. The audience is
invited to clap in time and dance to create an even more
festive atmosphere and the “happiest” finale for the “Party
Gras.”

This new show presented in the New York area of
American Waterfront features Mickey Mouse and the
Disney Friends discovering different ways to enjoy the big
city. During the “Tokyo Disney Resort 35th ‘Happiest
Celebration!’” event period, the show will also include the
35th anniversary theme song to add to the festive
atmosphere.
The Disney Friends have come to New York and are
looking forward to enjoying its many charms such as Broadway
and picnicking in the park. With honking cars and other city
sounds in the background, they start exploring the town and discover many fun and appealing
aspects of New York. They see New Yorkers doing acrobatic street performances on crates and
walls downtown, while on Broadway they see some gorgeous dancing. The Disney Friends are
charmed by the city and have a wonderful time. For the finale, the audience joins in and the show
comes to a dazzling close.

Again this year, Guests can enjoy this entertainment
program inspired by the colorful, Japanese style of “natsu
matsuri” or summer festivals. “Sansui” refers to “sparkling
sun and water” and in the program tons of water will spray
out over the forecourt in front of Cinderella Castle and
along the parade route around the Plaza for a fun and
refreshing time.
In this season of summer festivals, Guests gather as
five floats, large and small, make their way to the Castle
Forecourt and Plaza. In addition to the popular Disney
songs, the theme song for the Tokyo Disney Resort 35th
“Happiest Celebration!” is heard in a summer festival
arrangement with Japanese drums, flutes and other
instruments. The Disney Friends, dressed in colorful
Japanese fashion, appear on the floats and spray the Guests
with water. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their friends
take the lead, clapping rhythmically and calling out to the
Guests in a lively way. The special ambience of a
Disney-style Japanese summer festival reaches the heights
as Guests and the Disney Friends join together in the fun.
Note: Water will spray from the five large and small floats primarily in front of Cinderella Castle and along the
parade route around the Plaza.

There will be about 60 types of items themed to Japanese summer festival. Products

Park.

SPECIAL MENUS
Delicious treats that taste as good as they look are themed to popular
snacks found at Japanese summer festivals, with a distinctive Disney touch.
At Sweetheart Cafe, Guests can enjoy a sandwich shaped like grilled
corn-on-the-cob, and at Restaurant Hokusai Guests ordering the special
menu featuring chirashi-zushi can take home a pair of souvenir chopsticks.
Also available during the special event will be a dessert that comes
with a Chip ’n Dale souvenir cup, and a dessert that comes with a souvenir
plate.

DECORATIONS
The decorations in front of Cinderella Castle and around the Plaza, from parasols with
Japanese elements in their designs to broomsticks from the Disney film Fantasia and more, will
enhance the ambience of a Disney-style summer festival.
Guests will also find a photo location showing Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy
playing a Japanese drum. Another photo location will feature Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck and
Clarice playing Japanese flutes. Guests can pose in front of the Mickey-shaped Japanese drum for
a unique keepsake photo.

In this entertainment program inspired by the world
of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, a crew of pirates
led by Captain Barbossa takes over Porto Paradiso in
Mediterranean Harbor. In an attempt to recruit members
for his crew, Captain Barbossa puts the Guests through
pirate training with lots of splashing water. Just as the
Guests and the pirates form a bond, Captain Jack Sparrow,
the longtime rival of Captain Barbossa, makes an
appearance. Guests will be immersed in a world of pirates
through this thrilling performance enhanced with water
and fire.
OTHER ENTERTAINMENT
Guests can experience even more buccaneering fun with
atmosphere entertainment and greetings presented during the
“Disney Pirates Summer” event period.
At Mediterranean Harbor, atmosphere entertainment
features a game-element that uses flags to encourage Guests
to join in some more pirate training. And Guests can look
forward to meeting pirates with a variety of talents
including acrobatics, music and comedy as these jovial
pirates roam the Park during the event period.
Guests also have the chance to meet the infamous
Captain Jack Sparrow at Lost River Delta and Mediterranean
Harbor.

Presented in Miguel's El Dorado Cantina at Lost River
Delta, “Pirates' Cantina Fiesta” will feature special menus

SPECIAL MENUS
A final feast before setting sail is the theme for this year’s summer
menus at Tokyo DisneySea and there is plenty for hungry pirates to sink
their teeth into.
At Miguel’s El Dorado Cantina, Guests can enjoy hearty dishes to
satisfy the appetite of the rowdiest pirate as the restaurant is transformed
with the special program “Pirates Cantina Fiesta.” On offer will be a
special set menu that features a skull-shaped serving of rice with chicken,
and tacos made with black tortilla.
Cafe Portofino, decorated with flags and casks with designs of
pirates and skulls, will offer a special set menu, while Mamma Biscotti’s
Bakery and New York Deli will feature special menus with a pirate feel.
Also available will be cocktails served in cups with a design of
skull-and-crossbones perfect for toasting the joys of a pirate’s life, and a
dessert with a souvenir featuring motifs of Mickey Mouse dressed as
a pirate.
