Unless you specify differently, weathered and aged cabinetry will be shipped with natural birch finished ends.

Riverside Maple Aged Concrete

Our aged technique is a new, completely old look for cabinetry, with its own approach to finishing, colors, and style. It’s reminiscent of worn, vintage furniture passed down through a few generations, evoking the feeling that it has been well loved over time.

It is important to know that the artistry that goes into this technique is only featured on the “face” of the cabinets. All end panels arrive as natural birch finish. They won’t match the color of the finish unless you specify a finishing treatment on the cabinets that need it.

What does this mean for you?

When designing with the weathered or aged technique, you will need to specify which cabinets need a finishing treatment and how each should be finished. This will be accomplished in 2020 using helpful tools to guide you every step of the way.

Additionally, face frames and matching interiors will be the same color as the rest of the kitchen—and will receive the same glaze and brushing process as the doors, drawer fronts, molding, hood, and everything else. But they will not be distressed.

Designing with aged and weathered finishes

T H E FI N I S H I N G T O U C H

When placing cabinets in 2020, the cabinet will be displayed with natural birch sides. Upon placement of your first cabinet in a design featuring a weathered or aged finish, you will receive a pop-up reminding you to select a finishing end treatment where needed.

Once you select the finishing treatment on the appropriate cabinets, 2020 will re-render the cabinet with your selection.

Below are options for finishing the ends of cabinets. When selecting a treatment, consider the overall look and function you want to achieve when finishing exposed ends.

For finished ends without a matching interior, select from the following: • Furniture Plywood Ends – FPEB • All Plywood Furniture Ends – APFC • Attached Decorative End - AD_E • Integrated Decorative Ends – D_E • Operational Ends – OE • Wood Skins – WSK – field installed

For finished ends with a matching interior, select Matching Interior with ¾" Furniture End Panels on All Plywood Construction – MIAPFC. This will finish the interior and the exterior of the cabinet.

FURNITURE FINISHED ENDS

Creating a smooth, coordinating furniture-style side can be easily achieved by using Furniture Plywood Ends (FPEB) or All Plywood Furniture Construction (APFC). These options do not attempt to match the door style, but provide a simple finished detail that is part of the cabinet side and does not require field installation.

ATTACHED DECORATIVE ENDS

Factory applied decorative door (AD_E) that matches the door profile selected for the design. This solution eliminates installation errors and reduces installation time. When AD_E is selected, the cabinet construction defaults to APFC.

OPERATIONAL END

Provides quick and easy access to the entire cabinet from multiple sides, minimizing traffic in the space. When using a wall stacking configuration, the OE doors will mimic the placement of the doors on the face of the cabinet for a seamless look. Available on base, wall, tall and vanity cabinets.

Complete your design using existing finishes in 2020 Design. Then select the .xml file as normal.

You then will be given the option to change to the new finishes available. Import SKUs as normal.

On the Place an Order homepage, enter your Account Number and Bill To Number then select Global Options.New finishes will be available in the Global Options under the Finish drop down. Add SKUs as normal.

Complete your design using existing finishes in 2020 Design. Start by selecting a .mce file as normal.

Select all lines then change your order to the new finishes available.
