RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION 2019/20

Registration for religious education for 2019/20 will begin on March 21, 2019. Early Bird PREP Registration: March 21st - April 4th, 2019 The Early Bird phase of registration for religious instruction for 2019-2020 will run for TWO WEEKS ONLY, from March 21st to April 4th, 2019 ($30 discount for each registration). Regular PREP Registration: April 5th – May 2nd, 2019. Go to www.ryeprep.org for information regarding fees and to register. We recommend registering as soon as possible to receive the early bird discount and to get your first choice of day and time. PARISH DAY OF SERVICE APRIL 6th

The Outreach Committee is sponsoring a Day of Service on Saturday, April 6th, at Caritas and

Don Bosco Community Center in downtown Port Chester.

Volunteers will be needed to staff the Food Pantry, Open Closet and Girls & Boys Club activities at the center.

We will also be collecting disposable diapers and food donations, which will be distributed to local families. The day will begin with a 1-mile family fun run in downtown Port Chester, beginning at the Police Department headquarters and ending at the Colony Grill restaurant.

What a great way to prepare for Easter! Community service hours will be available for those who need them. Families welcome! Please go to www.resrye.org for more details and to signup !

THE CARDINAL’S ANNUAL STEWARDSHIP APPEAL

Serves our spiritual communities across our 10 counties. If you have not yet made your pledge to the Cardinal’s Appeal, please make your commitment today. Remember, you can pledge your gift now and make payments in the coming months. Thank you to all who have already made your commitment – your generosity is appreciated! In 1979 Cardinal Cooke started the Appeal to facilitate the pastoral, educational, and charitable works of the Archdiocese of New York. In the 40 years since, the Appeal has raised many millions of dollars and used every penny to benefit the people of our archdiocese. Our work continues. Please join them in order for us to meet our goal of 460 families participating. Let us show our strength in faith, in unity, and in Jesus’ call to action. On this 40th anniversary, we are focusing the Cardinal’s Appeal entirely on keeping parishes healthy and vibrant. This means making sure underfunded parishes can afford to keep their doors open. It means training your future priests at Saint Joseph’s Seminary and caring for your beloved former pastors at the St. John Vianney Center for Retired Priests. it means supporting our Catholic schools, 128 of which are part of or located at parishes and provide a top-notch, Christ-centered education to almost 36,000 young people. We would like to thank the many families in our parish who have contributed to the Cardinal’s Appeal thus far. To date, we have raised 39 %. We are getting closer, but we still have a ways to go! Remember, 60% of any cash raised over goal is returned to our parish. Please take a moment this week to make your contribution. Thank you again for all your generosity and support.

THURSDAY MORNING HOLY HOUR There will be a Lenten Holy Hour in Church on the Thursdays of Lent from 9 am-10 am with Fr. Jon Tveit. There will be Mass, Exposition, Benediction, Reflection.

UNDERSTANDING THE MASS Come and take a Lenten Journey to better understand the Mass and be transformed by this intimate encounter with Jesus! This DVD series by Bishop Robert Barron will be held on all the Friday mornings of Lent prior to Holy Week, Friday’s March 22nd, 29th, April 5th, 12th (no session March 15th). Sr. Danielle will be facilitating this program at 9:30AM in the Lower Church Hall’s Nielsen Room. See you there!
