Multiple Factors for COVID-19 Increase• We are testing more & people are probably getting tested who
wouldn’t normally have gone for testing – purpose/benefits of public health testing recommendations: 1. Prevent early introduction of COVID-19
2. Identify early transmission within schools
3. Identify household/community transmission (public health identifies close contacts and test the close contacts)
• All age groups having increasing COVID-19, not just youtho No evidence that schools are fueling community transmission
• Increasing complicated public health contact tracing – average number of close contacts per case is increasing
• More clusters (not many in schools)
Bottom Line: People are Relaxing Social Distancing and Gathering in Groups
