NEW HOPE fOr A NEW CENtury ChroniCling the Capital Campaign HE INAUGURAION OF HE ‘NEW’ DOMINICAN HOUSE OF SUDIES—On April 18-19, 2009, students and sta o the Pontifcal Faculty o the Immaculate Conception at the Dominican House o Studies in Washington, D.C. joined the entire Province o St. Joseph—along with riends, beneactors and dignitaries rom around the world—or the ormal dedication o the school’s new  Academic Center and Teological Library. Te Master o the Dominican Order , Fr. Carlos  Azpiroz Costa, O.P. was among the guests o  honor at the inaugural weekend. GROUNDBREAKING—Prior Provincial Fr. Dominic Izzo, O.P. breaks  ground or the new Academic Center and Teological Library on May 17,  2007. He is joined by Dominican Foundation Board President Ray Clark, Br. Gregory Schnakenberg, O.P., Fr. Joseph Barranger, O.P., Fr. Reginald Whitt, O.P., Fr. Gabriel O’Donnell, O.P., and Fr. Steven Boguslawski, O.P.  MASS OF HANKSGIVING—A rchbishop Donald Wuerl o Washington, D.C. celebrates  Mass in the chapel o the Dominican House o  Studies, declaring the new building a sign o  hope or the Church throughout the US. INAUGURAION DAY  MEDIA—NEW & OLD Fr. Aquinas Guilbeau, O.P. and Fr. Gabriel Gil- len, O.P., in the New York studios o Sirius XM Ra- dio, during a broadcast o “Word to Lie,” a weekly radio show on “Te Catholic Channel” Fr. Guilbeau  provides media coverage o Pope Benedict XVI’s  pastoral visit to the US in spring  2008. Fr. Gillen gets to the heart o the allacy underlying an atheist campaign in New York’s subway stations (NY Daily News, Nov. 9, 2009). Te state-o-the-art new Web site o the Province o St. Joseph is an ex- ceptional tool to proclaim the Gospel in the age o witter and Faceb ook. VOCAION WEEKEND—Each  year increasing numbers o young men spend a weekend at the Do- minican House o Studies to experi- ence the common lie o the Friars. Te new house or the community o St. Dominic ’s in Nairobi, Kenya was completed in early 2008—with 30 bedrooms there is plenty o room to accommodate the new  growth.
