Some of you mightremember the movie Field ofDreams. It came out it in 1989 andstarred Kevin Costner a novice Iowafarmer. While walking through hiscornfield one evening, he hears avoice whispering, "If you build it, hewill come." He continues hearing thisbefore finally seeing a vision of abaseball in his field. He begins toplow the corn under in order to builda baseball field. His family faces financial ruin until, one night, a uniformed man is seenon the field. More players continueto show up and play baseball untilthe farmer is reunited with his fatherafter a troubled relationship andhundreds of cars can be seenapproaching the baseball field, people are coming to watchbaseball.
In recent weeks some peoplehave been asking why are wecompleting the upstairs classroomswhen there are hardly any childrenattending New Life Church at thepresent time and the church isfinancially strapped. I would respond

that this church needs to be readyfor the children and youth who willcome in the future. I would say aswas said in the movie, “build it andthey will come.” If we are not readyfor the children and youth who maycome and visit and they find thatthere is nothing or no place for them, they will never be back. Thechildren who are here now will havethe opportunity to invite their friendsto a place that welcomes childrenwith a special place for them.
Yes, it is a challenge for usright now. I believe it is important forthis church to be ready. If we don’tdo this now we might as begin toprepare for the doors of New LifeChurch to be closed and neveropened again. I choose to havehope for the future. I believe that oneday this church will be filled withchildren and young families. That iswhy the upstairs is being finished sochildren and youth will be able to haveSunday School and youth fellowship in adedicated space just for them.

Just A TraceSpring had come to her long awaited time.I watched her awakening with each subtle sign. The night air was fragrant and velvety soft,I could almost hear heaven's praises aloft. In the glow of the dawning all rosy and pinka sleepy bird peeps, while a dewdrop winks . . .sparkling like a solitaire suspended in spaceclinging to a gossamer web of fine lace.yes, just a trace, a whisper of Spring . . .her secret revealed in this wondrous thing.Shyly it shines in the rising of the sun . . .her promise of hope of new things to come. Then all too soon she bids us farewelland leaves but a trace of her misty green veil. The warmth of the summer overshadows the Springwith the depth of her green and her days lengthening. And so it is as the seasons pass by . . .nothing under the sun can every satisfybut God who planted eternity in usmakes all things beautiful from this time-frame of dust. Now we see . . . but only in partjust a trace of it all, what He put in the heart. In the Eastern sky comes a radiant glowwith a brightness of glory, God's people shall knowa wondrous thing . . . yet some will shun.Just a trace of time left and Christ Jesus will come!

Ecclesiastes 3:11 Amp. He has madeeverything beautiful in its time. He also hasplanted eternity in men's hearts and minds [adivinely implanted sense of a purpose workingthrough the ages which nothing under the sunbut God alone can satisfy]
