takes place on Wednesday, June 22, at the New Braunfels Convention/Civic Center, located at 375 S. Castell Avenue. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m.

GVTC is pleased to announce the distribution of $4.7 million in capital credits. As a cooperative member, customers are eligible for a capital credit check based on their individual telephone usage. Members can pick up their capital credit check at the Annual Meeting. Proper identification is required and the member must be in good standing. Members who don’t attend will have their capital credit check applied to their July GVTC billing statement.

GVTC is expanding its line of business into Wholesale Carrier Ethernet services. Two Hill Country high school students, with hopes of attending Texas A&M University, are the recipients of two scholarships worth $20,000 each from The GVTC Foundation.

Garrett Malatek, of New Braunfels High School, is the recipient of the Ritchie T. Sorrells Scholarship for Leaders. The Sorrells Scholarship is named after GVTC’s president and CEO and recognizes students who exhibit outstanding leadership qualities and have used innovation or technology to make a positive change in our community.

Vanessa Skillman, from Blanco High School, was awarded the Ola Armstrong Scholarship, designated for students exemplifying extraordinary service, volunteer work and involvement in their local community.

The New Braunfels Area Community Foundation conducted independent screening of all scholarship applica-tions and selection of the scholarship recipients, on behalf of The GVTC Foundation.
