Luxembourg-EIB Climate Finance Platform
Rationale for the Luxembourg-EIB Climate Finance Platform
25/02/2020 European Investment Bank Group 2
Addressing climate change requires innovative,
high impact finance solutions that mobilise the
private sector.
The Luxembourg government is looking to
support high impact climate transactions and to
promote climate finance.
The EIB aims to increase the impact of its climate
financing, in particular by mobilising more
private sector investment, which requires
blended solutions.
A joint climate finance
platform with fast decision-
making process and clear
criteria is of mutual benefit.
Established in September
2017, up to date
EUR 70m pledged
and EUR 20m signed
under four operations.
