CAPTAIN’S REPORT:

Our Spring monthly golf game day was played on the 1st of September on the nine-hole golf course at Tempe. With a shotgun tee-off, our Nomads and guests had ample opportunity to enjoy the hospitality and real value for money which only the Tempe bar and kitchen can offer. Thank you to the club captain, Johan Stander and the Tempe management for allowing us the use of your golf course and facilities during our monthly game.

Most Nomads found the course quite challenging, myself included, but yet the winning scores were 38, 38 and 36, which just shows that we have some outstanding golfers in our midst. David Wesso was our champion of the day. Congratulations David on an excellent round of golf.

Congratulations also to former Nomad, Fred Cason on his re-induction by our visiting national chairman, Neels Bezuidenhout. It is great to have you back Fred and we wish you a fun filled time as Nomad again.

Hennie Labuschagne achieved the very special milestone of receiving his 100 game badge. Well done Hennie, keep on keeping your head down and following through!

I must say a huge thank you to the present and past captains who were the sponsors of the day. Thank you for your continued commitment to Nomads even after the years of service that you have given to Nomads already.

Our next adventure is at the Botswana Nationals to played in Gaborone on the 13th and 14th of September where we will be playing in our South African colours and then we meet up with our fellow Boland Nomads on the weekend of the 4th to 6th of October to compete for the coveted “Veldskoen” trophy. So much fun to be had!

Our October game is to be played at Schoeman Park Golf Club on 13 October. It is also our bring-a-buddy day, where guest will only pay the discounted playing fee at the club to join us for some Nomadic fun. Hope to see you all there.

On 29 August 2019 Free State Nomads held their FOG Golf day at Scoemanpark Gholf Club. Louis Lange, our JVC, organised the day and reported that with a full field the golfday was well supported by everyone.
