ASSESSMENT REPORT

JANUARY, 2002

Summary

A limited geological mapping and lithogeochemical sampling program was conducted on the Milford Bullseye Property during the 2000 field season. The work was conducted as part of New Millennium's regional scale Lac Des Iles Pd-Pt exploration project and was supported out of the Dog River exploration camp.

Preliminary mapping and sampling results included the discovery of a new member of the Lac Des Iles Intrusive Suite - the Bullseye Intrusion - on the property, but failed to indicate the presence of any significant Pt-Pd mineralization. The Bullseye Intrusion, known at this point from only two isolated outcrops, is pyroxenide in nature and associated with a strong northeast elongate magnetic anomaly.

Based on the presence of mafic intrusive rocks that are believed to be part of the Lac Des Iles Intrusive Suite on the Milford Bullseye Property detailed mapping and lithogeochemical sampling is recommended.

1. Introduction

Between Ma}' 23 and July 11, 2000 a preliminary geological mapping and lithogeochemical sampling program was conducted on the Milford Bullseye Property as part of New Millennium's regional Lac Des Iles Pt-Pd Project. The program targeted Pt-Pd mineralization hosted by the mafic intrusions of the Late Archean Lac Des Iles Intrusive Suite. No work was completed on the property during 2001.

2. Location and Access

Tlie Milford Bullseye Property (hereafter referred to simply as "the property") is situated in the Thunder Bay Mining District of Ontario, with the claims being located on the Tib Lake claim sheet. The property is located approximately 85 km west north-west of Thunder Bay and 30 km northwest of the village of Raith (Figure 1).

The Milford Bullseye Property is accessible via a network of well established to partially overgrown logging roads. Access from Highway 17 is north onto the Dog River road located approximately 12 km west of Raith. At a point approximately 20 km north along the Dog River road the Tarn an Lake road branches off to the east. A Y in the Taman Lake road is reached at a distance of 125 km east from the Dog River road Travelling 6.0 km along me northern arm of the Y brings one to a secondary, partially overgrown road, which is truck accessible. The southern margin of the Bullseye Property lays roughly 4.5 km north on tins secondary road, approximately where it begins to become heavily overgrown and travellable only by fool or all- terrane vehicle A series of partially to heavily overgrown logging trails crisscross the Bullseye

Page 4: NEW MILLENNIUM METALS CORPORATION · 2017. 1. 17. · 52H04NW2017 2.22905 TIB LAKE UTM Zone 16-NAD 83 010 NEW MILLENNIUM METALS CORPORATION ASSESSMENT REPORT PRELIMINARY MAPPING AND

Property and are, in general, accessible via all terrane vehicle. A visor-equipped helmet is strongly recommended due to the abundance of low hanging branches along the road. Care should also be taken in this area due to a heavier than normal concentration of black bears.

The majority of the Bullseye Property covers gently rolling terrain, which has been partially, clear-cut 10-15 years ago. Secondary growth varies from sparse to very dense. Overburden is extensive on the property with outcrop exposures being limited to less than Wo. The overburden appears to be comprised mainly of sandy glacial outwash with local pockets of till preserved. The limited outcrop exposures are typically small and rounded. Large grass covered areas are present on the property which are atypical of the area as a whole.

4. Exploration History

There is no previously recorded exploration on the ground comprising the Milford Bullseye Property.

5. Regional Geology

The Milford Bullseye Property lies within the Wabigoon Sub-Province of the Canadian Shield. In the Lac Des Iles District middle Archean gneissic and schistose lithologies of the Wabigoon Subprovince have been intruded by a series of Late Archean mafic/ultramafic, and potentially related felsic to intermediate, intrusions collectively known as the Lac Des Iles Suite. The mafic/ultramafic intrusions of the Lac Des Iles Suite are known to be associated with significant Pt-Pd-Au mineralization, including that at the nearby Lac Des Iles mine. Sutcliffe (1986) considered the Lac Des Iles Suite of Intrusions to be roughly coeval with a series of granitic- tonalitic-granodioriric intrusions in the Lac Des Iles area.

Metamorphism in the Milford Bullseye area is considered to be of upper greenschist grade. Sutcliffe also notes the presence of a regional, northeast-trending set of faults in the vicinity of the Bullseye Property. A recently completed Ontario Geological Survey airborne magnetic survey indicates the presence of a very strong 700 x 300 metre northeast-trending magnetic high beneath the southeastern portion of the Bullseye Property (Figure 3).

6. Geological Mapping and lithogeochemical Sampling Program

A. Introduction

Between May 23 and July 11, 2000 a two to four man crew, under the supervision of NMM's Darin Wagner, mapped and sampled the Milford Bullseye Property as pail of New Millennium's Lac Des Iles Pt-Pd Project. A total of 19 man-days were spent examining the property in 2000 Exploration activities were conducted out of a tent/trailer camp located on the Dog River, southwest of the property. The field crew, which worked on the Milford Bullseye Property in 2000. included prospectors Sandy Stares. Dave McCurdy and Rick Crocker, summer student George Packuch and NMM geologists Darren Send and Darin Wagner.

Imnal prospecting and mapping was conducted utili/ing (he available network of partial overgrown logging trails. Additional traverses were randomly spaced and run in a northwest- southeast direction across the magnetic anomaly on the property

Geologic and sampling information was compiled nightly in a digital database suitable for incorporation into a Mapinfo-based regional dataset. All rock samples were transported to Accurassay in Thunder Bay and analyzed to Pt. Pd. Au. Cu and Ni

B. Geological Mapping

Geological mapping of the Millbrd Bullseye Property was strongly hampered by (he presence of extensive glacial/glaciofltivial deposits on the property, as well as the very tight nature of the secondary forest growth over large portions of the property. Overburden depths and composition varied considerably around the property. 'Hie best exposures are observed along the logging trails in areas of shallow overburden. In total 27 outcrops were mapped during the 2000 field season (Figure 4; Legend Table 2 below).

Preliminary mapping indicates dial western portion of the property is underlain by quartz-feldspar gneiss (of granitic derivation) interpreted to be of Middle Archean age (l 'nit le; Table 2). The quartz-feldspar gneiss is typically massive, medium-grained and contains accessory biotite, chlorite and or hornblende.

A small area of biotite-quartz gneiss of likely sedimentary derivation (Unit l A) is observed in the south-central portion of the property, south of the Bullseye Intrusion. This unit is also interpreted to be of Middle .Archean age. The eastern margin of the property is underlain by relatively fresh to weakly foliated medium to coarse-grained granodiorite. Based on the fresh appearance of this unit it is interpreted to be a member of Sutcliffe's Late Archean tonalite-granodiorite suite (Unit 7B) which may be co-magmatic with the Lac Des Iles Suite Mafic Intrusions. The contact between the granodiorite and the Bullseye Intrusion was not observed but based on observations elsewhere in the district the granodiorite is interpreted to be slightly younger than the mafic intrusion.

Two outcrops of pyroxene-bearing mafic intrusive were located on the Bullseye Property, within the magnetic feature mentioned above and mark the known extent of the Bullseye Intrusion. The eastern most of the two outcrops is a medium-grained, mesocratic pyroxene gabbro while the western outcrop is a coarse-grained, oikiocrystic pyroxenite similar to others observed throughout the Lac Des lies District. Boulders of both rock types were observed at a number of localities throughout the southern portion of the property (see lithogeochemical sampling below).

In addition to the pyroxene-rich lithologies of the Bullseye Intrusion a number of narrow (0.5-1.5 m wide) mesocratic hornblende gabbro dykes were observed cutting the gniessic lithologies on the property. In general these dykes appear to trend to the northeast parallel to the elongation in the Bullseye magnetic feature.

A single glacial striae measurement indicating movement toward 242 degrees was recorded in the southeastern corner of the property

samples obtained from the Mi l ford Bullseye Properly were from mafic outcrops (triangles in Figure 5) l lie remainder of the samples were eolleeled from sulphide mineralized gabbro. pyroxene gabbro and pyroxenite boulders (stars in Figure 5). All samples collected during 2000 where placed, along with a numbered sample tag. into plastic bags onsile and sealed Samples were then transported to the Dog River camp and from there b)' truck on a weekly basis to Accuracy m Thunder Bay and analy/.ed for Pt. Pd. Tu. \! i and Au. Analytical results arc appended (Appendix 2}

In general analytical results from the samples collected from the Bullseye Property in 2000 were disappointing Figure 5 indicates Pd results foi all of the samples collected. Only 3 samples returned Pd values above the detection limit of 10 ppb (shown as O on Figure 5) One of these samples, a pyroxene gabbro breccia with minor disseminated pyrite and chalcopyrite, returned a high of 33 ppb Pd. None of the samples collected during 2000 returned Pt in excess of the 15 ppb detection limit and only (wo samples returned Au values above the 5 ppb detection limit with a high of only 8 ppb. Mi values to 730 ppb were detected in pyroxenite boulders to the southwest of the Bullseye Intrusion. However neither of the outcrops of this intrusion sampled returned significantly elevated values for the elements analyzed and the precious metal values for both samples were below detection.

7. Conclusions and Recommendations

Preliminary mapping and lithogeochemical sampling on the Milford Bullseye Property has identified pyroxene-bearing mafic intrusion of uncertain size which is believed to be a member of the Lac Des Iles Suite of Intrusions. Work to date has not. however, identified any significant PGH mineralization.

Based on the work to date and the presence on the property of a member of the Lac Des Iles Suite there appears to be sufficient encouragement to recommend that a limited program of detailed mapping, prospecting and lithogeochemical sampling be conducted on the property in 2002. As part of this program careful notes on the nature and anticipated depth of the overburden on the property should also be kept to facilitate an analysis of the utility of using soil sampling and or mechanical stripping as a second phase exploration tool. Future exploration should continue to focus on the area within the magnetic anomaly on the property. It is further recommended that claim 1240471 be allowed to lapse as it does not appear to host any volume of mafic intrusive rock
