NEW MUMC STAFF POSITIONS

During the past several years, Madison United Methodist Church has seen significant growth in out-

reach ministries serving Madison, the Metro area, Mississippi and around the world. There has also

been substantial growth and increased programming in our KIDS Ministry. Our Staff Parish Rela-

tions Committee, with the approval of the Finance Committee and the Administrative Council, is

now taking applications for two new part-time positions: KIDS Ministry Associate and Coordinator

of Outreach Ministries. These positions will enable us to provide additional support for these minis-

tries. Contact Rev. Barry Male (601.955.3384; [email protected]) with any questions about

these positions, to express interest in the positions, or to pick up an application. Also, please notify

SPRC members of any qualified, passionate and committed people who might be interested in one

of these ministry positions. We ask that you pray for our SPRC as they interview candidates over

the next several weeks.

pleship night on Sunday, August 25 from 6 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

We will have dinner, play games, worship together, and learn

together! I hope that you and your 4th – 6th student will come!

Our Speaker this year is Dr. Ronnie McGehee. Dr. McGehee

will share with us his tips/thoughts on the importance of a

strong spiritual foundation for both students & their families as

they navigate middle school & high school. A nursery will be

available for younger siblings. To help with planning, please let

me know if you are coming and if you will need childcare!

RSVP to [email protected]. If you have questions or

need more info, please let me know!!

THEIR PARENTS Wednesday, August 14, 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in the

Christian Life Center & KIDS Hall

Dinner will be served from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Please

CONFIRMATION FOR SIXTH GRADERS

Our Kickoff Event is a supper & activities for you, your 6th grader, their mentors, &

siblings. It will be Sunday, September 8, at 6:00 p.m. in the Christian Life Center

(CLC). Parents, Kick-off Reservation Cards will be mailed the week of August 12.

To help in your future planning, we will meet each Sunday morning during the Sun-

day School hour (without mentors) & each Sunday night from 6:00-8:00 p.m. (with

mentors). We will NOT have Sunday night class on October 13. Confirmation Sunday

is November 10. If you have any questions, please let me know.

DO YOU WANT TO BE A CONFIRMATION MENTOR? Sometimes we are asked to help a 6th grader select a mentor, and it is important

to have a list of people who are interested in serving during Confirmation! What

is a mentor? A mentor is someone who supports & encourages their Confirmand

as they develop/continue a unique relationship with him/her. Being a mentor

does not mean that you know all the answers. It does mean that you will share

your faith in an authentic way & that you will be a good listener. If you are inter-

ested in serving or have questions, please let me know!

A NEW ORGAN FOR OUR SANCTUARY!

We are excited to announce that we will soon be installing a brand new organ in our

sanctuary! While our current organ has served us well for the past three decades, we

have struggled increasingly with mechanical failures over the past five years. Our new,

state-of-the-art Allen organ will give us all the latest technology with marked improve-

ment in tone quality plus the addition of numerous sounds such as chimes, harp, French

horn, and many, many more! Much thanks goes to the leadership of the Board of Trus-

tees, the Finance Committee as well as the generosity of church members. This new in-

strument will enhance our worship experience for years to come!

and fun, and move to the Multi-Purpose Room later in the evening for a time of invitation and inspiration around

our next steps on the journey of following Jesus.

We want to hear from you ASAP. Please reach out to one of the following men to let them know you are planning
