About the course

NEBOSH Award in Workplace Health & Safety course is intended for companies or individuals

working to international Health & Safety standards. It provides individuals with a broad overview

on health, safety & environmental topics. NEBOSH has chosen TWI to pilot this program.

Who should register for this course

This course is suitable for all Individuals who want to have a basic knowledge on the practice

of health and safety in the workplace and is an ideal introduction to a NEBOSH Level 3

Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.

Course Content

The syllabus is divided into 2 units, (1) Workplace safety foundations; (2) Risk assessment activity.

There are 10 elements in Unit 1 which covers a range of workplace hazards and methods of

control and are as follows:

Unit 1 Workplace safety foundations

1. Foundations of health & safety

2. Responsibility for health and safety

3. Health & safety risk assessment and control

4. Work equipment health and safety

5. Transport safety

6. Electrical safety

7. Fire safety

8. Health and safety during manual handling and repetitive activities

9. Hazardous substances

10. Health and safety in the working environment

The second unit which is the Risk Assessment Practical Application is aimed at assessing a

candidates ability to complete successfully two activities and they are as follows:

a) Safety Workplace Inspection

b) A Short Report Writing

Course Duration and Assessment

The training is spread over 3 days plus a 45 minutes multiple choice exam and a two hour

Risk Assessment Practical Application.

Participants must achieve the minimum pass standard in the examination and assessment

to receive the parchments for Units 1 & 2 and the full Award Certificate.

All cancellations must be in writing and cancellation fees shall apply: cancellations made 4 weeks prior to

the course start date shall be charged AED 180 as administration fee; 50% of the total fees for

cancellations made 2 to 3 weeks before the start of the course; 100% of the total fees if less than 2 weeks
