DESCRIPTION
Here's a fun slideshow of the faces that make up central China.TRANSCRIPT
Welcome to my slideshow of Chinese faces
These were people I met on the road as I traveled around
the country…
My first trip away from my home base of Zhuhai was over to the
nearby island:
HONG KONG
It’s near Zhuhai, but it’s another world.
Filipino housemaids were off for Hong Kong’s Labor Day.
And here’s the rest of the faces from this neck of the woods…
A couple Jehovah’s Witnesses:
Then this last spring, I visited the breathtaking views at
Yangshuo, Guangxi Province.
But it’s the people of this rural area that we’re concerned with
today:
These women belong to one of China’s 56 ethnic minorities.
These next ones are all of the Han majority, I believe:

Then this summer, I went on my big, central China trek:
• Started in Beijing
• Then south to Henan Province
• Further south to Hubei Province
• West to Xi’an before going back south to my home, Zhuhai
• It was a lightning bolt through the heart of China. Here’s who’s makes up the heartland:
First, my fellow faces in transit:
Beijing
Henan Province:
Hubei Province:

Xi’an
As sometimes happens, she had no clue what her shirt meant:
Thank you
• Or in Mandarin, it’s xie xie (it sounds like “sye΄ sye”)
