New Features Overview for My Memories Suite 9 New Project Types You can now choose from several new project options such as Posters, Metal Prints, Canvas Prints, Social Media templates, and Photo Gifts right from the software. You can access these types by starting a new project and choosing Design.

The Social Media project options include templates for several popular social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram, and Pinterest.

The Photo Gift project options include templates for some of our photo gifts such as swatchbooks, water bottles, mugs, and mousepads.

Photo Enhancements Color Pop – Make a photo black and white except for an area you select in color. 1. Select photo you want to edit. 2. Choose the Color Pop feature from the Photos tab of the Control Panel. 3. Click and drag the round cursor tool on the areas of the photo you want to restore color to.

HSB – Hue, Saturation, and Brightness adjustments. 1. Select the photo you want to edit. 2. Choose the HSB feature from the Photos tab of the Control Panel. 3. Move the sliders below the photo until you find your desired effect.

Photo Details – Right-Click photos in the Photo Gallery to see details (width, height, dpi, path, etc).

Photo Sort – Right-Click to sort photos in the Photo Gallery by Date vs Name.

Text Enhancements Copy and paste text styles from one text box to another. 1. Right-click on a text box that already has the text styles that you want to replicate and choose Copy. 2. Right-click on the text box that you want to add the styles to and choose Paste Special then Paste Text Format.

Attach text with a style to a shape or line. 1. Select a text box that has stylized text. 2. Hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and select the shape or line that you want to attach the text to. Now both the text and the shape or line should be selected. 3. Right-click on either the text or the shape or line and choose Attach to Shape.

Change the style of text already attached to a shape or line. 1. Select a line or shape that has text attached to it. 2. Adjust text styles using the Text tab in the Control Panel.

Set any text box style to the default text style. 1. Select a text box with the text style that you want to make the default. 2. Click the Set As Default Text Style in the Text tab in the Control Panel.

Background Enhancements Set background to gradient colors. 1. Click on the Color button in the Backgrounds tab in the Control Panel. 2. Click on the Gradient tab in the top right corner of the window. 3. Right below where it says Gradient Colors, click on the first small white square to indicate which color position you are adjusting. 4. Click on the large white square underneath the gradient bar to select your first color. 5. Repeat for the second color. You can add more colors by pressing the Add Color button under the gradient bar. 6. You can use the 2 points in the square preview area to manipulate the length and direction of the gradient.

Zoom in and out of backgrounds. 1. Select the page with the background that you want to adjust. 2. Use the In and Out buttons in the Backgrounds tab of the Control Panel.

Nudge background in eight directions for precise positioning. 1. Select the page with the background that you want to adjust. 2. Use the Nudge button in the Backgrounds tab of the Control Panel to move the background.

Note: that you can press on the different arrows of that same button to move the background in all eight directions.

Calendar Improvements Additional options for calendar header sizing. 1. Select a calendar object from your project. 2. Adjust the header settings by checking or unchecking the boxes in the Calendar tab in the Control Panel.

Set start month of yearly calendars. 1. Select the yearly calendar on your project. 2. Use the drop down menus in the Calendars tab in the Control Panel to set the starting month and year.

Calendar projects from scratch will automatically add calendar months to correct pages. 1. Start a new project and choose the Design option. 2. Click on Calendars and then choose a calendar size. 3. Choose the year of your calendar and make sure “Don’t auto-add months” is unchecked. Click Ok.

Set a specific day of the week to be a custom color. 1. Click on the Edit button in the Calendars tab in the Control Panel. 2. Switch to the Numbers tab at the top, then use the section called Special Weekday to set your preferences. 3. Press Apply and then press Ok to close the window.

Other Enhancements Set objects to same width, height, or size. 1. Select two objects. 2. Right click on one of the objects and you’ll find the options at the bottom of the Align menu. Note: The objects will resize to whichever of the objects is the topmost layer.

Set mattes to gradient colors. 1. Click on the Matte button in the Photos tab in the Control Panel. 2. Click the Change button in the middle of the window. 3. Click on the Gradient tab in the top right corner of the window. 4. Right below where it says Gradient Colors, click on the first small white square to indicate which color position you are adjusting. 5. Grid to assist with aligning points in Shape Editor. 1. Click the Add button in the Shapes & Lines tab in the Control Panel. 2. Choose and select your desired shape, but before pressing Add, click Edit. 3. Move the points along the grid to edit the shape, then click Ok.

Page number feature now allows for text before and after page numbers. 1. Click on the Arrange drop down menu from the very top of the software and choose Page Numbering… 2. Add your text to the Text Before and Text After boxes.

Note: If you want to include a space between your text and the page number, you will need to include the spaces in the text that you type here.

Autosave option with adjustable intervals. 1. Click on the My Memories Suite drop down menu from the very top of the software and choose Preferences. Note: On PC computers, you’ll click on the Edit drop down menu and choose Preferences. 2. Click on the Options tab at the top, make sure the Auto-save box is checked and then choose the frequency that you want the software to autosave for you.

Fast Fill option offers breaks which helps keep groups of photos together. 1. Start a new project and choose the Template option. Choose and open the template. 2. Click on the Insert drop down menu from the very top of the software and choose Fast Fill… 3. Choose the images you want in your project. 4. Click on an image that you want a break after, and then click Insert Break. Note: You can change the placement of the break by selecting it and then dragging it to the correct place. 5. Click Finish.

Photo layouts can be sorted by number of photos. 1. Click on the Insert drop down menu from the very top of the software and choose Layout… 2. Check the box that says Sort by number of Photo boxes.

Word art can be filled with a background paper. 1. Select a piece of word art from your project. 2. Select Background Paper from the drop down menu in the Fill section of the Word Art tab in the Control Panel. 3. Click on the white square under that same drop down menu to select the background paper you want to fill the Word Art with.

Note: It will automatically fill it with a plain white background until you choose a background paper, which may make your word art look like it’s disappeared if the word art is on top of a white background already. You just need to set the background paper and your Word Art should re-appear.

Search within Templates dialog. 1. Open a new project and select Template. 2. Use the search bar at the top of the window to search for the name of the template you are looking for.

Adjust photo position inside photo-filled embellishment. 1. Select the photo-filled embellishment that you want to adjust. 2. Hold down the Control key on your keyboard and also press the Crop button in the Embellishments tab of the Control Panel. 3. Click and drag the photo into the position you want it in and then press Ok.
