Digital Radar OverviewDigital radars are unique because they send radar outputdirect to a Personal Computer without the need foradditional displays. Bringing the PC and radar together isnormally no small task, however, with the SI-TEX RADARpcand Visual Navigation Suite, we have made it easy.

The radar image is received by the radar transceiver andconverted into a digital picture which is sent to thecomputer via an RS-422 interface. The Insight Radartechnology displays the information on the computerwithin Visual Navigation Suite. Heading and GPSinformation are sent to the computer using a standardNMEA interface.
