NEW STARTERS 2020 Patricio Alvarado – English Teacher Patricio, or Pat Alvarado is returning to Emanuel School after 8 years at Rosebank College, where he held the positions of Head of English and, for the last 3 years, Assistant Dean of Studies (Teaching & Resources). Pat originally joined Emanuel in 2001 as an English Teacher and followed on to be Head of English for 6 years and Director of Studies for 3 years. He returns to us now as an English teacher after missing being in the classroom. Aaron Morris – English Teacher Our English Department also welcomes Aaron Morris to the team. In 2016, he travelled to Australia from the United Kingdom, where he had held teaching positions in Leeds and Manchester, including Advanced Skills Teacher and Head of Department. He has spent the last 3 years at Moriah College teaching in their English Department. Craig Moss - Gifted & Talented Coordinator (7-12) Craig Moss will take on the role of Gifted & Talented Coordinator for our High School. He joins us from Mary MacKillop College in Wakeley, where he taught HSIE whilst leading their Gifted & Talented Program. Craig is originally from Essex in the UK, and has also taught at Cook School, a Co- Educational behaviour specialist school, and the MET School in Oatlands.

NEW STARTERS 2020

Patricio Alvarado – English Teacher Patricio, or Pat Alvarado is returning to Emanuel School after 8 years at Rosebank College, where he held the positions of Head of English and, for the last 3 years, Assistant Dean of Studies (Teaching & Resources). Pat originally joined Emanuel in 2001 as an English Teacher and followed on to be Head of English for 6 years and Director of Studies for 3 years. He returns to us now as an English teacher after missing being in the classroom.

Aaron Morris – English Teacher

Our English Department also welcomes Aaron Morris to the team. In 2016, he travelled to Australia from the United Kingdom, where he had held teaching positions in Leeds and Manchester, including Advanced Skills Teacher and Head of Department. Emma Lord – Head of Software Engineering & Digital Technologies

Emma Lord joins us as our Head of Software Engineering & Digital Technologies. She previously worked at Wenona School, where she spent 2 years as their much-respected Digital Learning Leader. Emma has worked in other similar roles at Scots College, St Ignatius College and at Pittwater House. She is passionate about women in technology and has created women’s networking groups and events, to share this with likeminded individuals.

Annabelle Turrall – Primary Teacher

Annabelle Turrall joins us as our new Kindergarten teacher. She taught last year at Wenona School, taking a Year 6 class. Prior to that, Annabelle has worked in a variety of schools across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. At various times, Annabelle has held the position of Curriculum Leader for Maths, ICT and Performing Arts.

Sharon Paton - Executive Assistant to the Principal (Commences: 10 February 2020)

Sharon Paron is joining us from her current role as the PA to the Deputy Principal and Dean of Students at St Luke’s Grammar, Dee Why. Prior to this, Sharon held the roles of Executive Assistant to the Principal of Brigidine College, and as PA and Enrolments Secretary at the Sacred Heart School in Mosman.

Indiana Faithfull – Head of Basketball

Indiana, or Indy, has been the head basketball coach here at Emanuel for the last 2.5 years and has now come on board full-time as our Head of Basketball. Indiana has played basketball professionally for the Sydney Kings and has just been appointed Assistant Coach of the Men’s Under 20 NSW Basketball team. He has already made a huge difference to the quality of our basketball program and our students are very fortunate to have Indy on board.

Cathy Evans-Birrell – Sports Administrator

Cathy also joins our new-look Sports Department as our Sports Administrator. Cathy has been a part of the Emanuel community over the past 7 years, as our head Netball coach, and also coaching various other teams including touch football and T-ball. She is President of Mascot Netball Club and has coached various representative teams and umpires. She also recently received a local community service award for her service to the club. In addition to her coaching experience, Cathy has significant experience in Admin, business and visual merchandising.

Claudia Sceats – Primary Teacher (1 year)

Claudia is a former student, who is returning to Emanuel on a 1-year contract as our Year 4 teacher. Claudia comes to us from various Primary School teaching roles at Cranbrook, St Catherine’s and Kesser Torah, in addition to her casual teaching at Emanuel for a number of years.

Drishti Nanwani – Innovation Teacher (Term 1-3) Drishti joins us as our Primary School Innovation Teacher for Terms 1-3, replacing Sophie and Emma whilst they are on maternity leave. Drishti comes to us from Kambala where she was working as their Learning Enrichment Teacher. Prior to this, Drishti spent a year teaching in Indonesia, which had a significant impact on her. She has undertaken studies on MakerSpace programs through Monash University and is passionate about innovation and getting students to think creatively.

Mateusz Rabenda – PDHPE Teacher (1 Year)

Mat Rabenda is a familiar face here at Emanuel, having been a regular casual teacher for a number of years. Originally from Poland, Mat is a qualified educator as well as a tennis coach, holding Head Tennis Coach positions at various tennis centres and running school tennis coaching programs. Mat joins us for 12 months as a replacement for Adam Ezekiel while he is on leave. He will be working across both the Primary and High School PDHPE Programs.
