Joining the Autodesk Student CommunityThe Autodesk Student Engineering and Design Community is a place where teachers and students can access popular 3D design software along with teaching and learning resources. I have pre-registered the email domains of the schools to make registration easy.

Before students can join, their teachers need to register and prepare a link they use to create their accounts. To begin, navigate to http://students.autodesk.com. On the opening splash screen, select the link to Join Now.

Fill out the registration form using your correct time zone and select submit.

Once you have completed that you should receive an email confirmation of your registration. Be sure to check in your spam filter if it does not show up in your inbox. You should see a screen that indicates you were successful. If you receive any other

message or an error message send an email to studentcommunity@autodeskcommunications.com. Let them know you are teaching a Project Lead The Way curriculum and let them know what the problem is. They will research the problem and get back to you.

Once you have your registration complete you then go to the site and this time select the login section. Use you username and password you set up.

Browse the site to see what is available with your logon. When you are ready to invite your students select the link under the Invite menu to be able to Invite Your Students.

As the page opens a link is automatically created. Copy the link and give to your students. This will allow them to create their own accounts.

Once they create their own accounts they can then select the Software Downloads link on the site.

AUTODESK REVIT DOWNLOAD

Have them get their own serial number before downloading. Be sure they select the version for their operating system. When they begin the download have them look at the warnings that Internet Explorer will not download that large of a file. They should use Firefox.
