TRYOUT/WALK-ON PROCEDURES

1. Head Coach or designee notifies Compliance by email that a tryout will take place on a

specific date or dates. The Head Coach or designee must complete this form

3 days prior to the tryout.

There are 3 requirements to tryout: full time enrolled student at Clemson, physical examination with completed Clemson Sports Medicine

forms proof of health insurance.

2. Head Coach or designee distributes medical “tryout” packets (from SportsMedicine) to interested tryout participants. It is the responsibility of each Sportto disseminate and gather these forms, not Sports Medicine or Compliance.

3. At least 3 days prior to the start of the tryout, the completed Tryout form with fullnames and University ID numbers, must be provided to Compliance.

4. Prior to the tryout date, Brad Woody will notify the Sport by email which studentsare permitted to go through the tryout procedure. Tryouts can be no longer than14 days.

5. If a “tryout walk-on” is chosen to be a member of the team upon completion ofthe tryout period, then the Head Coach or designee will notify compliance and theindividual will complete all the information requested on the walk on form. Thefollowing must be completed on the form prior to full practice as a member of theteam:

Have a full physical administered by Sports Medicine Complete all required NCAA and institutional forms with compliance. Be cleared through academics services

6. The compliance staff will notify the head coach when a “walk-on” is eligible tocontinue practicing/conditioning and competing as a member of the team.
