New Waste Services and Recycling Update for City of Aztec Residents

Waste Management (WM) and the City of Aztec are excited to announce some new services, as well as changes to the recycling collection schedule.

NEW! RECYCLING: Beginning in 2020, Waste Management will collect all residential recycling in Aztec on the Friday of the first full week of every month. Please see the calendar on the reverse page for the new collection dates, as well as a list of acceptable recyclables and other important service information.

2020 Community Clean Ups

Community-Wide Clean Ups:• April 18 - 26• October 17 - 25

NEW! BULK ITEM PICK-UP: For household items that are too large to fit in your trash cart, WM will offer two free bulk item pick-ups per year at your location by appointment.

To schedule or check the eligibility of your item(s) for collection, please call Customer Service at (505) 327-6284. Once scheduled, WM will arrive to take away your large, bulky item. Additional pick-ups can be scheduled for a fee.

Bulk Restrictions: For each appointment, you can dispose of up to three items. Tree trimmings, green waste, area rugs or carpet must be less than four feet in length and bundled, weighing no more than 75 pounds; limit of 2-yards per collection (equal to about four trash carts). Construction debris, rocks, concrete, tires, and large pieces of metal (such as car parts) and hazardous waste are not considered bulk items.

On collection day, place your recycling and trash carts at the curb with wheels facing the curb by 6:00 a.m.

Please ensure recyclables fit in your recycling cart with the lid closed. Do not bag your recyclables.
