NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NEW WEST THEATRE AND LETHBRIDGE BIG BAND WELCOME GUEST PERFORMERS IN JULY PRODUCTION LETHBRIDGE, June 2, 2014 – New West Theatre is honored to be partnering with the Lethbridge Big Band in acknowledgment of the incredible milestones each organization reached this year. With 75 years of combined live performances in Southern Alberta, we are celebrating the arts in our community with our brand new, all original production THE RITZ Hits of the Big Band. This unique production will highlight crooner classics with splashes of comedy, and mix contemporary style with the nostalgic fun of the Big Band era. THE RITZ Hits of the Big Band will feature a series of guest performers, rotating weekly, who have ties to both organizations. “The Lethbridge Big Band is grateful to the spectacular guest performers who will join us for THE RITZ Hits of the Big Band. George Gallant has been the talented resident vocalist with us for the last twenty years. Mark Campbell, Dave Mikuliak and Jeff Carlson have graciously joined us on many occasions, adding their own special humour, charisma and vocal stylings. The Lethbridge Big Band welcomes all to join us to celebrate our 50 years of Big Band Swing along with New West Theatre, and their 25 years of great theatrical shows” – Music Director Paul Walker, Lethbridge Big Band The schedule for the guest performers is as follows: July 4-5 & July 8 GEORGE GALLANT July 9-12 MARK CAMPBELL July 15-19 DAVID MIKULIAK July 22-26 JEFF CARLSON “New West Theatre is delighted to be partnering again with the Lethbridge Big Band after several fun holiday collaborations in the mid-2000’s. THE RITZ Hits of the Big Band not only celebrates the incredible milestones reached by both organizations, but also the astonishing support of local performing arts in our community. We simply couldn’t have done it without you, Southern Alberta” Artistic Director Jeremy Mason, New West Theatre The first 250 adult tickets to this production will be offered at a special rate of $25. THE RITZ Hits of the Big Band is proudly supported by the Heart of The City Grant from the City of Lethbridge and Gold & Gold Productions. New West Theatre is also grateful to Lethbridge Volkswagen who has joined us as our Silver Anniversary Community Partner in 2014/15, allowing us to raffle off a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta to support our operations.
