Knudt Flor President & CEO, BMW Manufacturing Co., LLCKnudt Flor is President and CEO of BMW Manufacturing Co. He has 29 years of experience within the BMW Group Global Production Network. Mr. Flor, 58, began his career with BMW in 1988 at the Engine Plant in Munich as an Engineer of Production. He then served in several roles in Quality Assurance and Quality Management at the Munich plant. From 1996-2000, he worked at the Spartanburg plant as Quality Assurance of Car Assembly and Purchased Parts. He has also been Vice President of Production at BMW Plant Munich, Director of BMW Plant Rosslyn in South Africa, and Senior Vice President of Manufacturing at BMW Brilliance Automotive Joint Venture in Shenyang, China. Most recently, Mr. Flor served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Quality for the BMW Group.

Henning Kagermann has been President of acatech – National Academy of Science and Engineering since 2009. acatech provides independent and science-based advice to policymakers and civil society. In 2017, Henning Kagermann was appointed “Global Representative and Advisor of the Plattform Industrie 4.0” by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. He holds the chair of the Steering Committee of the Innovation Dialogue between the German government and the scientific and business communities. As a former member of the German Federal Government’s HighTech Forum and the Industry-Science Research Alliance, he plays a key role in the promotion of strategic projects such as Industrie 4.0, web-based service innovations (Smart Services) and autonomous systems. Mr. Kagermann holds a post-doctoral thesis in physics and is former CEO of SAP.

Nikhil Gupta is an Associate Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the New York University Tandon School of Engineering. He directs the Composite Materials and Mechanics Laboratory. His additive manufacturing research is focused on developing security and product authentication methods for 3D printing. He is also serving as the Chief Technology Officer of a startup company 3DPSecurity, Inc., which was founded in 2016 to develop cybersecurity tools for additive manufacturing industry. Mr. Gupta’s research has been supported by The Office of Naval Research, National Science Foundation, Army Research Laboratory, National Institute of Health and industry. He has three issued patents, authored over 155 journal papers and book chapters and four books. His work has been featured on PBS TV, Discovery Channel, Scientific American, National Geographic and other news media.

Business Unit. Mr. O’Toole has more than 25 years of experience in the IT industry including a variety of product management and business development roles. Mr. O’Toole began his IBM career as part of the IBM SNA software development team in Research Triangle Park, NC. He later became a Brand Manager for IBM’s TCP/IP software products. Mr. O’Toole was a leading member of the team that developed IBM’s e-business strategy and worked with IBM WebSphere in establishing IBM’s SOA strategy. More recently, he spent two years in Shanghai as Director of Ecosystem Technical Enablement for IBM’s Systems Group.

Wolfgang Wahlster is the CEO of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence, the world’s largest PPP research center focusing on AI technologies for industry with more than 500 scientists. Among the shareholders of DFKI are major German companies like BMW, Bosch, Deutsche Telekom, and SAP but also US companies like Intel, Google, and Microsoft. In 2001, the President of Germany presented the Future Prize to Mr. Wahlster, the highest personal scientific award in Germany. He helped to shape the German future project Industrie 4.0, after he had coined this term in 2011 together with his colleagues Kagermann and Lukas. Mr. Wahlster serves on the Executive Board of the International Computer Science Institute at UC Berkeley.

Kearney, Inc.Sean Monahan has over 30 years of industry and management consulting experience specializing in Supply Chain Management (Plan, Source, Make, Deliver) strategy and execution. Mr. Monahan was Vice President of Operations for Moorman Manufacturing, a privately held diversified agri-business. Mr. Monahan leads A.T. Kearney’s Operations and Performance Transformation Practice for the Americas, is member of the firm’s Board of Directors and spearheads the firm’s efforts on digital supply chain and the future of production.

Livio Dalloro heads the Product Modeling and Simulation research group at Siemens Corporate Technology. Being born and raised in Milan, he spent a few years with Siemens, developing a software for large building automation systems, after which he moved to the company’s research facility in Princeton to build a new team focusing on the discovery and creation of the next generation cognitive algorithms for design, simulation and manufacturing. Mr. Dalloro received two DARPA grants and several of Siemens’ strategic innovation projects for Digital Twin. He now runs the largest and fastest growing Siemens research team in the U.S.

Michael Dowling is a Professor for Innovation and Technology Management in the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Regensburg, Germany.He received a Master of Science Degree from Harvard University in 1983, and received his Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988. He worked at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis in Laxenburg, Austria and with McKinsey & Company in Düsseldorf Germany. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board and a member of the Research Committee of the MÜNCHNER KREIS, a non-profit association providing orientation for decision makers in the digital world.Mr. Dowling was elected a member of acatech – the German National Academy of Science and Engineering in 2015 and installed in 2016.

Hans Jörg Stotz is leading strategy and innovation in SAP’s IoT & Digital Supply Chain division. In this function, he is responsible for strategy development for the Internet of Things (IoT) & Industrie 4.0, for prototyping, seed innovation and the advanced development of new IoT solutions, as well as for International Standards & Open Source. As Sherpa for Bernd Leukert, Member of the SAP Executive Board, he coordinates the external, political activities of SAP in the area of Industrie 4.0, Internet of Things and Digitization.He is a member of the Steering Committee of the German Plattform Industrie 4.0 and the Allianz Industrie 4.0.Mr. Stotz has been with SAP since 2005 and has held leading positions in the areas of SAP Corporate Strategy, Product Management, Innovation Management and Development Operations. Rahild Neuburger, Senior Lecturer at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, studied economics, before she made her doctoral thesis about Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). Since 1994 she has worked at the university of Munich teaching and researching about implications of new technological developments for organization structures, leadership, work and education. In addition to that she is general manager oft the MÜNCHNER KREIS.
