- ‘Road to the Regional Final’
Champions of the Center State Conference Division 4, the Marauders finished the season 8-0 in league play and17-1 overall. New York Mills opened Sectional play with a first round win over #8 seed and Frontier league
champions Lyme 84-46. It was the 6th straight year the Marauders won their opening game.
In the Semi-Finals they defeated #4 seed Poland 62-53 in their 3rd meeting of the season. In the Finals, the Ma-
rauders defeated #10 seed Oriskany 64-37 in their 3rd meeting of the season also.
The Davenport Wildcats finished the regular season 16-1 and Co-Champions of the Delaware League. They en-tered the Section IV Class D tournament as the #2 seed. In the first round they defeated #15 Franklin 64-39. In the
Quarter-finals they defeated #10 Laurens 42-35. In the Semi Finals they defeated #6 seed South Kortright 47-37.
In the Finals they defeated #5 seed Southern Cayuga 39-32 to win their 9th Class D title.
- ‘Before the Dancing begins….”
The Marauders once again entered the ‘Big Dance’ as CSC Division IV Champions. It is the Marauders 11th
Championship in 13 years. Overall the Marauders have claimed 21 CSC Championships, the most ever by any
CSC school. The Marauders finished with a CSC division record of 8-0. Over the span of the last 11 seasons, theMarauders have a division record of 137-11. Under Mike Adey, the Marauders are 182-22 against league oppo-
nents.
“Familiar Territory”
While advancing deep in the sectional tournament and making it to the finals is every team’s goal, it is not always
as easy at it may seem. The Marauders, who have qualified for the Sectional Tournament in all 16 years under
Coach Mike Adey are 37-9 in the Class D tournament over that span .
This is the Marauders 7th appearance in the Regional Finals in the last 10 years and their 12th overall.
All time, the Marauders are 88-33 since Sectional play began in 1965. The Marauders have made the Class D final
19 times, which is a record for Class D teams.
The Marauders have won a Class D record 14 Sectional titles
‘Familiar Foes’
The Marauders and The Davenport Wildcats are no strangers to meeting in Regional play. This will be the 3rd
time they have met. Their first meeting in 1989 saw a Marauders 77-52 victory. They also met in 2007 with
Davenport winning 65-51.

‘Shooting’ Stars
The Marauders this season have connected on 122 3pt baskets led by Nick Comenale (57) Terrance
Nichols (27) and Andrew Surprenant (22) As a team they are shooting 35% from 3pt.
The Marauders 122 made 3’s is 37 better than they have allowed this season (85)
9 times this season they have made 7 or more in a game including a school record 13 made 3’s in theiropening game of this years Sectional Tournament.
Department of Defense
This season the Marauders are allowing 43.3 ppg. They have only allowed only 50 or more points 8
times this season.
They have pulled down 440 defensive rebounds and have recorded 229 steals and 91 blocks
“State Wide Respect”
The Marauders are currently ranked #1 in the New York State Sportswriters Association Class D Poll.
It is the 7th time they have been ranked #1 at some point in the season (2003, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012,2014).
The Marauders claimed the #1 spot twice this season, for the first 3 weeks and again for the last twoweeks. The Marauders are 74-6 all time as the #1 Ranked team in NYS.
The Class of Class D
The Marauders own 14 Section III Championships. (13 Class D, 1 Class C). Their 14 gives them more
than any school currently classified as class D in Section III. They have more regional championships 8 than
any other D school and more 1st team all state selections than any other D school. They have 2 State Champi-onships (1982 and 2011)
New York Mills has more 1st team all state selections than any other Class D team in Section III historywith 5 *( Class D POY technically a 1st team selection) and they also have the most 1,000 point scorers in
Class D history with 12.
- “Tradition Never Graduates”
A team with a storied past, the Marauders have won 14 sectional championships. 6 under former CoachMike Tomassetti and 8 under Adey. In addition combined, New York Mills has won 675 games and 21 league
titles 14 Sectional Championships and 2 state championships since 1972.

Coaching Spotlight
Coach Mike Adey is 2nd all time in wins in Section III with 521.
His 10 section 3 championships ranks him among the most all time
He is on the small list of coaches who have won multiple Championships at two schools and in two classes.(2 Class C titles at Rome Catholic 1981, 1984/ 8 Class D at NY Mills)
He has won Regional Championships at Two Schools and in Two Classes (1984 Class C RCH, 2010, 2011, 2013
Class D NY Mills)
He has won 21 league championships. 11 CSC Championships at New York Mills, 8 Inter Valley League at RCH
and 2 Tri Valley at New Hartford.
His 2011 Marauders Team won the New York State Class D Championship
He is the first coach to win 6 straight Class D championships in Section III history.

- Senior Co-Captain Nick Comenale is a 3 year starter for the Marauders appearing in 63 games over his career
He has made a school record 121 career 3pt baskets, 54 this season and currently has 1,180 points for his career,
good for 7th All Time at New York Mills.
This season, he is leading the Marauders in scoring at 24.5 ppg as well as 3.5 steals per game. He is shooting 55%
from the field, including 43 % from 3pt range. His 126 rebounds this season is a career best.
