    WEEKLY NEWSLETTER

    ISSUE 06 JANUARY 2012

    Happy New Year!

I hope you experienced a delightful holiday season, are having a wonderful week,

have caught up on emails, have successfully combated the post-holiday lag and

your eyes gleam whilst envisioning your involvement within the NYSA community in

    2012!

NYSA's first event of 2012 is soon approaching: The focus for Jan is Social Good,

featuring a slightly different agenda. The well received Spirited Debate remains,

however, this time around, instead of pitch-like startup presentations, we are

holding a panel discussion comprising three startup founders who will be asked to

provide feedback on 4 'key' questions. Both the debate and panel discussion are

interactive sessions, meaning q&a whilst speakers are on stage is a must.

RSVPhereto attend 'Startups for Social Good' on 24-Jan.

Interested in working for a London-based startup? If you said "YES!" and will be in

London on the evening of 18-Jan, join our London counterpart, the London Silicon

Roundabout, for their Jan event. The LSR TechStartupJobs Fair is being hosted at

Innovation Warehouse, an incubator and co-working space. There are 150+

registered attendees and 30+ startups looking to hire. RSVPhereto attend the job

fair. If you have any questions regarding the event, get in touch with Olga via email -

    [email protected].

If you're in NYC - look forward to seeing you on 23-Jan!

    Cheers,

    LuisaNew York Silicon Alley

Ruby Developer Demand RemainsHigh in 2012 Outlook in NYC, Silicon Valley January 3, 2012

Ask any entrepreneur in Silicon Alley, and youll find that theres a shortage of

engineers and developers in New York City. Thats a tough truth to deal with if you

happen to be an entrepreneur, but if youre a developer or an engineer, the high

demand spells more cash on the job.
