4 Children Die In Minor Fire LOUISVILLE, Ky. (UPI) - A
minor fire took the lives of four young children late Wednesday night while their parents were away from their housing-project apartment.
Found dead of suffocation in two smoke-filled bedrooms were the children of Mr. and Mrs. George Halloran—eight-month-old Barbara Jean, Gary Lynn, 2, Nancy Kay, 3, and James Thomas, 4. The children were not burned.
Sgt, George Steinbergen of the Fire Prevention Bureau said all four apparently were victims of dense smoke that filled the apartment when a bed caught fire about 11:15 p.m.
