Stephen Honor, Ph.D., ABPP Dr. Honor’s workshop will focus on workers’ compensation (WC) and no-fault cases, how each of these systems work and how we as neuropsychologists fit into the picture. Program will cover: How to become part of each of these systems; the nature of referrals for both systems; differences in billing requirements; independent medical evaluations (IMEs) - what are they, how do you deal with them, how do you guide your patients; WC-treating head injury and WC issues in similar cases; redress if denied; dealing with attorneys; and more...

Detailed Program Description The NYSPA Neuropsychology Division’s Board has developed an informative program for Saturday, October 22, 2016. It consists of three workshops led by very knowledgeable practitioners of neuropsychology, who will provide a vast array of information on a set of diverse topics related to Workers’ Compensation and No-Fault Insurance Claims, Biofeedback and Neurofeedback for patients

with medical/neurologic conditions/disease, and the practice of Teleneuropsychology.

This half-day conference will be the first of many conferences and lectures planned for the 2016-2017 cycle. We expect all those attending will benefit from the information presented and enjoy the lively discussion planned at the conclusion of the day’s program.

J. Lawrence Thomas, Ph.D. Dr. Thomas’ workshop will review the utility of biofeedback and neurofeedback treatment modalities for treating disorders such as hypertension, migraine headaches, traumatic brain injury, ADHD, bipolar disorder and other related medical disorders. Resources for training, professional organizations and references will be provided. A brief demonstration of 4-channel and 19-channel EEG biofeedback will be given. There will also be discussion as to whether or not there is enough scientific evidence to indicate we can improve brain physiology.

Frank J. Corigliano, Ph.D. Dr. Corigliano’s will present several core models as they relate directly to the application of Telepsychology for Neuropsychologists. The presentation will include Dr. Corigliano’s "5 Telepsychology Services Model" delineating opportunities for providing Teleneuropsychological assessment, intervention, rehabilitation, remediation, consultation, supervision, and training/education and the "7 Lenses Approach to Developing a Telepsychology Program." Dr. Corigliano will provide samples of relevant research, which demonstrate the effectiveness of video teleconferencing for clinical interviews, cognitive screening, neuropsychological assessment, and neuropsychological rehabilitation. He will distill best practices, and guidelines by the Department of Defense and the American Telemedicine Association and resources such as the 50 State Review of the progress of Telepsychology in the United States.
