QuestionHow can we increase student attendance and participation?
¿Cómo podemos aumentar a asistencia y participación de nuestros estudiantes?
NMUSD Adult Education Student Ideas: Reasons Students Stop
Attending Limited space in day care Transportation problems Parents w/children in class make it difficult
to concentrate Concerns about teacher(s):
Favoritism – Teacher favors some students more than other students.
Teacher does not motivate students and/or provide a dynamic learning experience.
NMUSD Adult Education Student Ideas: How can we increase
attendance/participation? Add a pronunciation class to class offerings. Put an anonymous suggestions/concerns box in
the office so students feel comfortable sharing their concerns about teachers.
Use students as school leaders – students motivating students.
Give students flyers to distribute to friends, community members, and local businesses.
Create learning activities in the infant/toddler room so parents don’t feel they’re “wasting time ” when it’s slow.
NMUSD Adult Education Student Ideas: How can we increase
attendance/participation? Permit more babies in the day care. Do phone calls to absent students – office
personnel. Do phone calls to absent students – students. Offer a Spanish GED class at the BESST
Center . Try it out during the summer?
Continue and expand technology offerings. Continue and expand motivation strategies.
Funny money Reopen the Saturday class.
