News 4 U ... 7 June 2018 To all Parishioners and those interestedin helping the younger members of the St Andrew's Parish shovel soil into the new planter box are invited! Sunday 10th June @ 10.45am to help put the new soil into the planter box. Bring a shovel, spade or trowel & gloves if you wish. Please if you are able to donate seeds/seedlings of silverbeet, leeks or herbs that would be great. Some folk are keen to see that the driveway is sorted too- the stones need to be removed (a grubber is the helpful tool) before some soil can be laid then it needs some easy to grow, ground cover that will sustain the winter months and grow long term! Hope to see you there, Marie I wonder what prayer looks like for you at the moment and how you pray? Some of us might be early risers, some night owls. Some of us say our prayers, others draw, sll others of use our hands as we pray maybe with a holding cross or prayer beads. For some its a set me, for others lingering thoughts come and go over the journey of a day. There are many ways to pray and engage with God in prayer. Some of use silent reflecon, others pray aloud, some sing, some dance, some walk or run. For each personality type, season of life and circumstance of each day there is always a way to enter into pray. Prayer is both personal and corporate. I find it helpful to pray when me allows with others. Praying for our community, for each other and for ourselves is a vital spiritual pracce. Prayer is the heartbeat and the foundaon of our church and that is why I invite you to pray with me. Each Tuesday at 12:15 in St Andrews and each Friday at 12:15 in St Albans myself, Peter Dennison, Dennis and Raewyn meet and pray. We pray a midday prayer liturgy together and then spend me praying for renewal in our parish, for God to grow us and work in us and 45 minutes later we go our own ways. Would you join us in this new prayer meeng? I am deeply challenged and movated by the words of Charles Spurgeon who once said, The condion of the church may be very accurately gauged by its prayer meengs. S o is the prayer meeng a grace-ometer, and from it we may judge of the amount of divine working among a people. If God be near a church, it must pray.Vicar Pete

News 4 U . . . 7 June 2018

To all Parishioners and those interested…

in helping the younger members of the St Andrew's Parish shovel soil into the new planter box are invited!

Hope to see you there, Marie

I wonder what prayer looks like for you at the moment and how you pray? Some of us might be early risers, some night

owls. Some of us say our prayers, others draw, still others of use our hands as we pray maybe with a holding cross or

prayer beads. For some it’s a set time, for others lingering thoughts come and go over the journey of a day. There are

many ways to pray and engage with God in prayer. Some of use silent reflection, others pray aloud, some sing, some

dance, some walk or run. For each personality type, season of life and circumstance of each day there is always a way to

enter into pray. Prayer is both personal and corporate.

I find it helpful to pray when time allows

with others. Praying for our community,

for each other and for ourselves is a vital

spiritual practice. Prayer is the heartbeat

and the foundation of our church and that is

why I invite you to pray with me. Each

Tuesday at 12:15 in St Andrew’s and each

Friday at 12:15 in St Alban’s myself, Peter

Dennison, Dennis and Raewyn meet and

pray. We pray a midday prayer liturgy together and then spend time praying for renewal in our parish, for God to grow

us and work in us and 45 minutes later we go our own ways. Would you join us in this new prayer meeting? I am

deeply challenged and motivated by the words of Charles Spurgeon who once said, “The condition of the church may be

very accurately gauged by its prayer meetings. S o is the prayer meeting a grace-ometer, and from it we may judge of

the amount of divine working among a people. If God be near a church, it must pray.”
