If, like me, you aren’t a Facebook user you won’t have seen the photos on our group’s Facebook page. So the photos here will give an impression of the variety of walks we’ve had since January – long, short, seasonal and special interest. For example, David Slater took us round the City Sculpture trail. Percival, a large scale replica of a china ornament of a Clydesdale horse and cart, by Sarah Lucas, was one of the more popular sculptures. Modern transport propped beside it. An unexpected bonus was free entry to the Garden at 120 Fenchurch Street with 360° views over the City from the newly planted roof garden. Cambridge alumni Melvin Anderson and Sue Neville showed us parts of the city which are not so well known to tourists including the University Centre canteen for lunch as well as some well known sights. They then led us to tea in Grantchester with time for some members to see the Church.
