It is with great satisfaction that I introduce the new image of CALRE’sNewsletter, a privileged channel fordisseminating the activity developedby this Conference during the year and also for sharing the activities held by its member Assemblies and Parliaments, wherefore I reiterate the invitation to its diffusion.

CALRE’s Standing Committee evaluated, last 28 June, during itssecond meeting, in Brussels, the ten applications from six parliaments for the third edition of CALRE’s Award “Stars of Europe”, whose main objective is to bring out best practices andinitiatives adopted by CALRE’s European Regional Assemblies.
The following initiatives received the highest number of votes: I Regional School Discussion Competition, Parliament of CanaryIslands, and Citizen Participation Project, Parliament of the

Wallonia-Brussels Federation/ French-speaking Community, first place, “Castilla y León, Land to Welcome”, Parliament of Castilla y Léon, and Work Methodology for the Realization of the “Mixed Movements of Populations and Human Rights Report”, Parliament of the Canary Islands, second and third places, respectively.
The prizes will be awarded at CALRE’s Plenary Assembly, which will be held on 21 and 22 November, on Faial Island.
