New Faces Around SMBC

Gary and Jamie Henderson were introduced at

the July meeting. Gary and Jamie were taken

sailing by another club couple, Steve and Sue

Jones, about 4 years ago. Gary was smitten

and purchased an Interlake sailboat. Jamie

found the boat to be a little too small so Gary

began looking for a bigger boat. He came to

SMBC looking at boats for sale and ended up

purchasing Jeff and Brenda Kean’s O’day 23

and renamed it “Lucky Tohaver”. Last year

Gary started racing in the SMBC club races,

racing either the Interlake or the O’day depend-

ing on weather conditions. Gary and Jamie live

in Sharpsville, Indiana.

Doug and Shelley Drury

were voted is as proba-

tionary members at the

May meeting. They have

three boys: Sailor, Painter

and Hunter. Doug had a

29 foot sailboat on lake

Erie several years ago but

traded it for an AMF Pace-

ship 23 “Wrinkled Sheets”

when their first child was

born. They have docked

“Wrinkled Sheets” in

Frey’s Channel for a few

seasons but joined SMBC

this spring and are now

docked on the west wall.

The Drury’s live in Lima,

Ohio.
