Working together, we can ensure great success for all of our young women! September 1 also marked the launch of our annual fall campaign, All in for OLP. Last year we celebrated 100% participation from families, faculty, staff and Board members investing in OLP through either a onetime donation or monthly pledge. We are once again asking every family to support OLP through an additional donation above tuition, at any level appropriate for them. Already, every faculty and staff member has made a gift on behalf of our girls to be All in for OLP! Together as a community, our last year's investments to the annual fund were able to provide all academic classrooms at OLP with new desks and chairs, retrofit and refinish the gym floor and weight room floor, and many more projects! Commitment cards were distributed at Back to School night and mailed home to those who did not attend. For your convenience, additional packets can be found at the front desk, or by emailing [email protected]. Help us reach our goal of 100% participation from ALL OLP families by September 30. Gifts of all sizes are needed and greatly appreciated. Make your gift online today! Visit our website to learn about our fundraising wish list and the incentives available to students! We stand together as a community in solidarity, unified as one family, to continue the exemplary tradition of educating our girls! Together, with your support, we will continue this legacy for another 134 years. Have a wonderful September and thank you for all you do in support of OLP. God Bless! Dear Parents, Students & Friends of OLP, September is upon us and its arrival inspires images of stacks oftextbooks, fall leaves and fresh bouquets of pencils. Students andteachers across the country return to school ready to begin a newyear of learning and all benefit from the gift of a fresh start. ThisSunday, September 4, 2016, we celebrated the canonization ofMother Teresa as a community of faith. Mother Teresa brought loveto life, just as so many of our CSJ sisters did and continue to do ona daily basis. Mother Teresa once shared, "I am a little pencil, in thehands of a writing God who is sending a love letter to the world." Aswe celebrate her sainthood, I hope that the inspiration of her workignites in all of us a passion to pick up the cause of her little pencil;to be small, but mighty; to show love and compassion in our daytoday lives. Because, "canonization is not for the saint, it's for the rest

of us as it lifts up a new role model of holiness." Here at OLP we have a full month of activities and events. Aswe continue to celebrate our All in for OLP campaign we alsobegin our early morning masses. These masses take place onthe first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 am in the OLPchapel. Parents, students, family members and friends are allinvited to celebrate the liturgy with our OLP community. Thefirst mass will be offered on Tuesday, September 6, 2016. Weare also honored to be welcoming the Pilgrim Statue of OurLady of Fatima on Tuesday, September 13, 2016. We will beginour day with an 8:00 am all school liturgy in the Holy FamilyEvent Center. A formal presentation will be available in the OLPchapel at 2:30 pm for any interested participants and a rosaryprayer will follow the presentation. We hope that many of youcan attend and participate in this wonderful opportunity. Our first Coffee with Counselors will be on September 7, 2016at 8:00 am in the Carondelet Library. This program provides a wonderful opportunity for parentsto get to know our counselors and learn more about all of the incredible programs that we offer. Please be sure to check in at the front office. In the world of campus life we are looking forward to the Frosh Club Expo, which allows ourClass of 2020 to learn more about the various leadership opportunities that are available tothem through participation in cocurricular clubs. We are also looking forward to hosting theSaints Welcome Back Tailgate at their home game on Friday, September 16, 2016. Committedto the motto "two schools, one spirit," we cheer for our brother school at every opportunity andwish all of their fall athletes a wonderful and successful season of sport. Finally, the last week ofSeptember brings with it an ageold tradition: Frosh dance lessons. Frosh students will learnmore about how to sign up to participate from their Section Reps in the weeks to come.Although this is optional for all members of the OLP Class of 2020, we encourage students toparticipate in this timehonored tradition, shared by our two schools for generations. We canguarantee that the memories will be worth the butterflies! God Bless, Mrs. Jessica HooperAssistant Head of School

zSpace, a New Virtual Reality Software, Visits OLP On Wednesday, August 31, students and parents had the opportunity to test out cuttingedgevirtual reality technology called zSpace! This amazing technology, which enables naturalinteraction with virtual holographic 3D imagery, is already being used by top universities acrossthe nation, including UCSD and Stanford. If adopted, OLP will be the first K12 school in SanDiego and the nation's first allgirls school to use the platform. zSpace allows you to explore the world in a virtual 3D environment. Students wear glasses tosee the 3D images and use a stylus pen to interact with objects on screen. One of the bestparts about zSpace is that it offers a shared experience: students can work in groups andwitness the same image as long as they are wearing the glasses. Although OLP received a special preview last week, the zSpace Mobile Lab will be returning tocampus on Wednesday, September 28. Save the date and stay tuned for more information! Read More
