Meet David Shepherd – manager of The Living WordDavid, do you have any special Christmas family traditions?

Quite simply, we just like spending time together! My son Matthew (30) likes to play board games, so that’s always likely to be on the agenda.

Anything seasonal selling especially well at the shop?

Christmas cards, advent candles, Bibles and ‘gifty wifty’ type things – note the Dr Who influence! With THE BIBLE mini series on Channel 5, I suspect we’ll be selling a lot of related products.

Is there a book or DVD you’d like to find in your Christmas stocking?

You know, I must be one of the very few people who’s never seen the James Stewart film, It’s a Wonderful Life. That would do me fine. Apparently it’s very moving – and I love a good cry!

And something you’re planning to give?

Don’t tell him, but my youngest grandchild Daniel will be getting Veggie Tales: Merry Larry & The True Light of Christmas. I love the Veggie Tales DVDs – perfect for kids of all ages. Can I watch it first?
