Dear Families,

Does your child has his or her Red, White and/or Blue picked

out for Wednesday’s performance?

Students will not be allowed to wear patriotic hats or deely-

bopper type headbands for the show. We have found these to be a very big distraction. (We will allow them in class that day, but

not for the program itself.)

Next Week’s PoemIn class tradition next week we will memorize the Preamble to the Constitution for our last

poem. We will work on this for the two weeks we have left at

school. To help your child learn this, you might consider

googling Constitution Preamble - Schoolhouse Rock and have

them learn while singing along to the youtube video.

Class Picnic, Popcorn & Movie Day

Wednesday, June 15

(a sack lunch isn’t necessary, since we’ll be picnicing on the soccer

fields, but it might be easiest.)

Last Day of School - Tuesday, June 9 - Half Day

I want to remind you that IXL (both math and Language Arts), MobyMax and Sumdog will be

open to the students until about mid-August. While I know that

many students like teaching themselves about multiplication

and division, I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE them to work

toward finishing the sections on two and three digit Addition and Subtraction, as these skills are

extremely important to have mastered before beginning third

grade math. I would say that the sections A-M are the most important in helping your child

have a good foundation for third grade math.

Also, Raz-Kids will be open to the kids throughout the summer.

Short newsletter this week…..

Have a groovy weekend with your child!
