SPONNE SCHOOL DARTS SHIELD The annual Sponne Darts Shield will take place on Saturday 5th October, 11am-6pm at Rileys Northampton. This competition gives students their first opportunity to play competitive darts. Only Sponne Students are eligible to enter and last year there were 25 competitors. The reigning champion is Daniel Owens (now 10RM) who will be hoping to retain his title. For £15 you secure your place in the club for the whole of 13/14 and will receive a welcome pack including a Rileys membership and other darting goodies. These will take place on the following three days; Tuesday 10th September Wednesday 11th September Thursday 12th September Please do come along to one of these sessions in W9 to give darts a try. You’ll get to throw darts, meet new students and ask any questions you may have. Students who were members last year (and wish to join again) must make sure they also attend one of these sessions. I would like to extend a warm welcome to all Sponne School students, parents and guardians to the Sponne School Darts Club newsletter. Since February 2012, we have offered darts on the enhancement timetable for students of all years to play darts and 2013/14 promises to be another exciting year for the club. The club has seen over 80 students give darts a try to date, and we hope to see many more take to the oche this year. There are lots of reasons for you to take up the sport, including; Aids confidence in maths and numeracy. Develops hand/ eye co-ordination, patience, motor-control and sportsmanship. Social activity, make new friends with a shared interest. And anybody can play! The darts club offers many more opportunities than just a weekly practise session; namely a multitude of trips and darts competitions to either watch or compete in. We already have trips planned to watch PDC darts in Wolverhampton and Alexandra Palace, London to see the worlds best darters in action.

The year will begin with Darts Club Taster Sessions from 3.05—4.15pm in W9. These will take place on the following three days;
