The spring ESSC will be held from March 12th -16th. We encourage all the members, startings on Feb. 8th, to pray for this holy event every night from 10 to 10:30pm.

Starting in April, format of the Bible Study Fellowship (3-4pm) will be changed to as follow:

Theme: What a Friend We Have in JesusDate: 3/1/2014 / Time: 7:35-9:20 pm

On 3/1 Saturday evening, Cerritos Church will be holding its Hymnal Evangelical Night. Invitation card is in the making. Please extend your warmest welcome to your friends and relatives and pray especially for the event.

Rehearsals for the Hymnal Praise Night will be held on 2/15 @ 4:00pm & 2/22 @ 7:00pm. We ask all the workers toattend.

One Sabbath per Quarter will be life application Q & A. You may submit any problems, questions you face in life into the offering box. Jesus spent 40 days and 40 nights praying before he chose his twelve disciples. He then called each one of them to follow Him, of whom one was Peter. Just as every individual, Peter had his own unique personality. He had a flair for the dramatic, often speaking rashly and acting boldly (Mt 16:22; Lk 22:32; Jn 13:6,8,9; 18:10-11). But God chose him, accepted him, and used him. Eventually, God had to fine-tune his personality so that he could use him effectively.

Over time, we see how his personality and character changed. In the events that are recorded in the Gospels, we often see Peter as speaking and acting rashly. When Jesus was crucified, we see that he did not know his own weaknesses; that he was actually quite cowardly. But because he received the promised Holy Spirit, in the Acts of the Apostles, he was so much bolder (Acts 2). In Acts, we also see that he can be calm and pensive (Acts 12). By the time we read his letters, we see that Peter is actually quite reflective and gentle (1 & 2 Peter).

Spend a moment to describe yourself. What some of your personality traits? How do you think these personality traits can be beneficial for the growth of the kingdom of God? Are there any traits that you think need to be fine-tuned by God, just like God did to Peter?
