TEQIP-II sponsored workshop on “Prevention of Sexual Harassment and Gender Sensitization at Workplace”
Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) organized TEQIP Sponsored
Workshop on “Prevention of Sexual Harassment and Gender Sensitization at
Workplace” (PSHGSW-2016) on October 26, 2016 at BBA Auditorium with the
objective to raise the awareness and ensuring the safe and gender sensitive en-
vironment in NITR community.
NITR welcomes the Director Prof. Animesh Biswas
Union HRD Ministry has appointed Prof. Animesh Biswas as the new Director of
the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (NITR). Prof. Biswas was
working at the IIT, Kanpur as Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineer-
ing. He after his BE from the Calcutta University in 1980 made his M.Tech. in
1982 from the IIT, Kharagpur and PhD in 1989 from the IIT, Delhi. Then, he went
to the Oregon State University, USA for postdoctoral studies. His specialization
area is RF, Microwave & Photonics and research interest area is Electromagnetics,
Micro & Millimeter wave circuits and techniques, Optical Guide structure, MMICs.

BRICS ranks NIT Rourkela among top 250 varsity
The BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) has included the Na-
tional Institute of Technology, Rourkela (NITR) among the list of 111-120 best
universities. The list was prepared out of 250 universities taken for consideration
from these five countries. The list was prepared after thorough studies (on infra-
structure, global level facility and faculty position) and markings, according to

Support e-Resources, Tools & Techniques and Scholarly Publish-
ing” (RSTSP-2016) on October 27, 2016 at New Senate Hall with the
objective (i) to describe various aspects of Research Support
e-Resources, Tools & Techniques and Scholarly Publishing aspects and (ii) also to create awareness and edu-

Annual Book Fair 2016

Biju Patnaik Central Library has successfully organized "Annual
Book Fair 2016" dur ing October 04-06, 2016. More than 40 ven-
dors and distributors from different parts of the country took part
and displayed their books. Academic Community recommended
books for enhancement of collection of the Biju Patnaik Central Library.
On this occasion, Honorable Director, Professor In-charge and
HOD-BPCL unveiled the two books entitled "Emerging Trends &
Techniques for Electronic Resource Management in Libraries:
Issues & Challenges" and “Basics of Library automation, Koha
library management software and data migration: challenges with
case studies" edited and authored by library team.

orable Director Prof. Animesh Biswas during Workshop on “Prevention of
Sexual Harassment and Gender Sensitization at Workplace” (PSHGSW-
