The April, 2015 incident occurred at the intersection of Juan Tabo and Southern Boulevard. Police say Jones, who was driving a rented SUV, ran a red light, slammed into another vehicle, and then fled on foot. A pregnant woman suffered an injured wrist as a result of the crash. Although Jones fled the scene, he was identified by an off duty police officer who happened upon the crash. Additionally, police found insurance information inside of the vehicle with Jones’ name, as well as some sports memorabilia. A warrant for his arrest was issued, and Jones eventually turned himself in. Jones posted bond a $2,500.00 cash bond, and has since made full restitution to the victim. The District Attorney’s Office worked with the victim during the pendency of the case, and she is in agreement with the terms of the plea and disposition agreement. On September 29, 2015 Jones entered into a Pre-Indictment Plea with the State of New Mexico,  pleading Guilty to Leaving the Scene of an Accident (Great Bodily Harm), a fourth degree felony offense. He was granted a Conditional Discharge, and ordered to serve a term of up to 18 months on Supervised Probation. Appearing in court, Jones apologized and stated he accepts full responsibility for his actions. Jones was ordered to complete 72 appearances, one for each of the 72 weeks in the 18 month Probation period. Second Judicial District Court Judge Charlie Brown ordered those appearances should be at local martial arts academies, grade schools, and middle schools. There, Jones will speak with Bernalillo County children about the importance of making good choices, and how one wrong decision can ruin everything for which they work so hard. Jonathan Jones Pleads Guilty in Felony Hit and Run Case

Albuquerque, NM– From the ring to the courtroom, MMA Champion fighter Jon “Bones”

Jones was back in court today, this time entering a guilty plea for a felony hit and run.

The April, 2015 incident occurred at the intersection of Juan Tabo and Southern Boulevard.

Police say Jones, who was driving a rented SUV, ran a red light, slammed into another vehicle,

and then fled on foot. A pregnant woman suffered an injured wrist as a result of the crash.

Although Jones fled the scene, he was identified by an off duty police officer who happened upon

the crash. Additionally, police found insurance information inside of the vehicle with Jones’

name, as well as some sports memorabilia. A warrant for his arrest was issued, and Jones

eventually turned himself in.

Jones posted bond a $2,500.00 cash bond, and has since made full restitution to the victim. The
